The Southern University Alumni Federation - Washington, DC area chapter is in the process of mobilizing alumni in the area to get license plates for the state of Maryland. Please read info below for more information.
*** ATTENTION MARYLAND RESIDENTS ***
Have you ever been riding around in your car and noticed the license plates of alumni from other universities and thought "I'd like a license plate denoting MY school!" Well now is your chance! If you own a car registered in Maryland and you would like to replace your current license plate with a Southern University organizational plate, please send an email to wdcchapter@gmail.com. The chapter is currently working with the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration to have license plates made with our Alma Mater on it. Should you decide to get this new organizational license plate, there will be an additional $25/year fee that you will pay in your state registration renewal for your vehicle. More details will be sent to those who respond back with interest. We need a minimum of 25 participants in order for the state to create the plates. So if you would like to replace your current Maryland tag(s) with Southern University tags, please reply to wdcchapter@gmail.com with the following information:

Number of vehicles plates are being requested for
Please respond back by April 7th if you desire to participate. Again, we need a minimum of 25 members to participate in order to get the inaugural plates made.
