Please move this thread to the Smack Board. This is plain silly. Reid is a good player, but TSU has done nothing to suggest that they can be competitive with the Jags, let along win this game.

TSU will have a hard time stopping the running. Gibbs and Smith will slice and dice the front 7 and no one is going to stop Jemo Stewart.

I know anything is possible, but I don't see that happening on Saturday. In fact, this might get real ugly.

In the SWAC regarding football you win w/ qb'ing. Don't need a defense, just as long as you can outscore your opponent. lol Sad but true.

In the SWAC regarding basketball, you win w/ guards. Don't need "big" men, just as long as you can outscore your opponent. lol Again, sad but true.

See the trend? I speak truth. BReid had my respect when he left HS and he has only gotten better. I don't know about this "soft" stuff everyone from osu to other SWAC members speak of because every single time the kid gets knocked down, he gets right back up and keeps coming @ you. That's the sign of a champion and someone w/ a strong will.

I won't get into "coach" speak because it may be above some folx heads. :lol:

Reid is a talent...but it is easy to scheme to stop a talented individual. He can be taken away by defending the things, plays he likes and executes best. You can best believe that we will force him to make a lot of quick throws using three step drops, etc into heavy traffic (we usually drop seven guys into coverage to cause congestion in the passing game). If/when he decides to go deep, that means it will take longer for the routes to develop...in those instances, he's gonna get pressured and hurried by a front four that goes on a feeding frenzy. He will be roughed up, big time.

Our tight end has emerged into one of the better receivers on the team as well as our tailbacks rolling out as receivers. So just when you think you have Brian Haith and Junior Osbourne contained you have Roland Robbins at tight end and Lucas Caparelli and Marcus Wright both at running back to contain not including Reid that can run the ball as well.

You're wasting bandwidth explaining. Everybody here thinks their squad is ArkSt and TxState. lol :emlaugh: Y'all need to shore up that defense though. I know <b>"LC"</b> will have something "special" as he's too familiar w/ SWAC coaches and schemes. :read:

Not disputing that Reid is a talent and that yall have a good staff...But, our defense plays a lot of Zone coverages that forces teams to drive the field to score. If Reid is hot and on target, it makes it the job of stopping him more difficult. But understand, this won't be a 7 on 7 passing drill... there will be pressure in his face and on his azz. Not only must he make good throws and the receivers have to catch it, there's the issue of your protection schemes needed to keep him upright all game in order to complete those passes.

We shall see!

This is some legit talk MB, the protection should be better going forward, Thanks to the NCAA. Although, them receivers need a lil somethin, somethin on those hands? :ebrow:
