Nope. After seeing Rutland play and the fact he couldn't beat out that inaccurate sad arse white boy at MS State speaks volumes. Gary Holliman from Gulfport will be the 4th string QB. JC would be the best Qb at JSU if he was there. He is still a good Qb. Gotta have him in the right system. Looking at what is going on with your offense any of our Qbs would be an upgrade. I see yall are averaging 14 points a game. Wow. SU scored more than yall have scored all year in one game. Just pitiful. I see why Croom let Rutland walk. Hell he rather take a chance with his job with the other sad Qb. Speaking of throwing someone under the bus. JC got hurt. Comegy just outright benched poor Jimmy "the Jet" Oliver for a D-1 transfer. Man I remember the days you said nothing like that would ever happen at JSU. At least B. Lee and company are all SU recruited players. Oh well.

This is sad. You are tired of just being wrong when you face TGO, now you done flat out started lying.

GR told you last year that JC was a garbage QB. See, the difference between you and GR is, GR dont speak out of hate. GR just speaks the facts. If he were good, GR would have told you so.

Now being honest, Lee is a bit better cause he is more mobile, but he does not have great mobility. JC couldnt move at all. But JC was a better passer. Congrats on your win over FAMU and Valley.

Uh GR, JC is a good Qb. Just needs to be in the right system. At least he actually throw the ball and be accurate. What is the excuse of those sad Qbs you got? Oliver runs around until he can just heave it. Rutland must be blind because he can't hit a moving target to save his life. He is just an athlete trying to play Qb. You know it and I know it. Aint like he left a school loaded with Qbs. He left sad arse Ms State. You know he is garbage. Hell JC could beat out that mofo State got. I would say congrats back to you on your wins so far this season, but yall don't have any. :lmao:

JC is a D3 QB at best. GR told you that 2 years ago. But now that he quit and somebody white done wrote about it, now you ready to throw him under the bus.

Instead of waiting on Joe S to tell you something about that sorry ass team, just ask GR.

OK lemme end this. GR dont want to get an email from Fiyah.

SU got the best QBs, the best RBs, the best WRs, the best this that and the other.

You guys started out 2-0 last year and you hit a wall. You dont have any talent, you have no depth, and the same thing is going to happen this year. You are going to wish you had not turned down Trae and Broussard :lmao:

Actually the way Trae is playing, yall gone wish State had kept him. I guess since he went to a white school that makes him good enough to transfer to JSU along with the 20 other "white" school players. Now if yall can just get some white coaches like Jayrob suggested then maybe JSU will win something. :lmao:

You shole is right GR. I tried to tell them that this morning. That cupboard is bare than a mugg.

Trae would be an upgrade at SUcks....both of our QB's would. You talkin about what your QB..whatever his name is...did in HS, JSU has the best JUCO player in the NATION on our team. Oh well. Oct. 13.... D. Day. ....and JSU is gonna take over 'cause SU will have too many losses by then.

JR

GR knows that you are trying to get back at him for documenting how transfers come to SU and automatically start before they even practice. GR gets your point, but it wont work. There is a difference from having someone earn a spot after training camp and the first game than putting someone on the AllSWAC team before he puts on a helmet like yall did Victor Ike. THERE IS A HUUUUGE DIFFERENCE.

Now that you cant get a transfer to consider SU since your facilities are sub par and your stadium is old rusty and out-dated and your coaches office has no air conditioning and it rains inside and conditions are just poor. Dont blame GR because of your deplorable conditions. Maybe if yall meet a possible transfer and recruit for that matter at the mall or something and not let them see the campus before signing, you guys could trick them into coming.

You cant get players from SU Lab to come to SU cause they have seen it first hand. so man...leave GR alone....he dont know no better

Rutland came to Grambling first.......saw he could not beat out Landers nor Kerlegan and ran to Jackson

Sometimes it's called looking for the best situation. Also, who would want to play for Broadway when you can play for Comegy? Who would want to play in the Country in front of 3000 fans when you can play in Memorial Palace?

For real
who would want to play for a loser when you can play for a winner

Why are you guys having this conversation with the President of the JSU Mafia. 0-2 JSU. Hold this conversation until the second week in October. Then the truth will be witness by 35,000.

GR then will become silent once again whil comegy is on the cloc.:saw:

35,000? Has the game been moved to the Superdome?

Looks like they had to do a feel good story to try to make up for what was done.........

Schiefelbein: 'Sunshine' walks off into sunset

There?s a redshirt sophomore running Southern?s offense these days, and Bryant Lee has shown he can be a pretty good one.

The thing is, though, the last guy to start as a redshirt sophomore, J.C. Lewis, can tell him all about how uncertain the road can be.

Lewis ? a fifth-year senior known as ?Sunshine? after the cool, California quarterback in ?Remember the Titans? ? walked into coach Pete Richardson?s office and called it a career Monday.

It?s a sad ending. It?s life. It?s football.

He finished as SU?s sixth-best passer all-time. And like Lee, Lewis once had so much going for him. Early last year, Lewis seemed a shoe-in to make the top two on that all-time list, behind Eric Randall.

First, the overtime disaster to Prairie View and a concussion/five-interception loss to North Carolina Central. Lewis, out for two games, started just one more game, in November against Texas Southern, but his last play came as he lowered his throwing shoulder on a block and got hurt. Lee has since become the starter.

So, after watching from the sideline for two games, Lewis went to see Richardson on Monday.

Said Lewis, ?It was hard. Coach told me he appreciated the time I was here. It was more kind of a mutual thing. I guess he was kind of sad for me to go, but he also respected my decision to go.?

Said Richardson, ?I?m kind of proud he made a decision he felt comfortable with.?

Lewis ? who came to SU in June 2003 on a Monday after graduating that Friday ? missed a lot of spring practice to finish his bachelor?s degree in mathematics in May. Then he spent the summer working for his mom?s real estate investment company in Houston.

He said he thought about not returning this fall, but when he was accepted to graduate school in mathematics, he came back.

But then his classes are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and conflicted with quarterbacks meetings.

?Eventually, that was going to put me further and further behind,? Lewis said.

Lewis has done what his parents insisted: gotten a degree and starting on another, while on scholarship.

?It really just came down to I just wasn?t going to play at all,? said Lewis, who will now sit down with his parents and talk about the future this weekend. ?For me to play, two guys in front of me had to get hurt or we had to be doing really bad. I felt it was time for me to move on.?

Lewis also has done all a school can ask as well. He?ll be remembered for his coolness ? as in easy-going, likeable and hard-to-rattle. Teammates named him a co-captain entering last season.

He?ll also be remembered for taking vicious blows (28 sacks in a nine-game 2005 season) that made Richardson, even after a lifetime around the game, wince. The elbow. The ribs. The shoulder. And most importantly, the noggin. Hits add up.

Lewis, who still throws a pretty ball, picked the right time to leave the pocket for good. The thing is, though, new days come, no matter how fondly the days of Sunshine are remembered.

Story

JSU threw a coach under the bus and the new coach killed Superman....and you condoned it and all praised him for it. You all said the team was better and time would show it to be so.

We are still waiting on the proof....

Superman is dead and no leader you have hired has won more games in a season than the periennial 7 Hughes seemed to get.

Class dismissed. All the hypocrits can go home now.

Football notes: Oliver to start for JSU tonight

See SUcks, this is what you all should have done for JC. And for the same reasons Comegy has decided to start Jimmy.

JSU coach Rick Comegy said Oliver's track record from last season, when he threw for 1,906 and 14 touchdowns, was the deciding factor.

You guys really do "SUck". :shamed:

What does throwing under the bus, your former su qb have to do with JSU?
Coaches are hired to be fired, but student atletes are not made to be used up and then thrown away like a dirty dish rag?
Please don't try and spin this on JSU. Your words are no more justified than the "feel good" (thanks Fiyah) jibborish printed in that article about JC. Man-up and put the blame where it belongs, on coach pete.:lecture:

Hold up........How was JC used? You cats kill me. If he had gotten hurt out there running that damn Orlando offense then you would say we put him out there to fail. The only thing fugged up about the situation is the fact that former OC Oliver, Pete and now Orlando decided not to build the offense to suit JC's talents. He got his degree and he did get the chance to start at SU. It is not like he rode the bench his whole career. You mofos want him out there because you think you have a better chance on beating SU. Yall don't care nothing about JC Lewis. This is all rhetoric. Which is a shame. So let me ask you this.......Has Lee performed when called upon by Pete? Why isn't anybody saying they threw Byrd under the bus. He fell further than JC did. Now again, I am a JC fan. I do however realize when you play Qb, it is always what have you done for me lately. More so than any other position. You get hurt and somebody steps up then you get replaced. Ask Drew Bledsoe how that felt in NE. Pete is on the hotseat and he is going to do whatever he has to save his own neck. I tell you what. Let this backup Qb at Michigan start winning and Chad Henne may not see the field again either. Not that I condone it. But like TBJ said, it is what it is. I was not in the room with coach Pete or JC to know how things went from the spring to the summer to now. All us on the outside can see is that he was not at summer conditioning and such while his competition was. Like I said my old man always told me you have to stay a leg up on your competition and not give them any edge. That's how I was raised. So in saying that. Knowing how Pete and Orlando are. I would have been the first mofo there in the summer and I would outshined Lee and Matthews so bad that it would leave no doubt. That's just my competative nature. Doc used to do the same thing in the Jukebox. If you were not there for whatever reason and some other kid got their shine on, then you were in trouble. I am not talking about being in class. I mean like miss summer band camp and isht like that. It is the nature of the beast in sports. Mack Brown did Applewhite much worse than what happened to JC. Simms sucked at QB. Applewhite was much better and even the Texas fans knew it. At least Lee is looking good.

Your coach has no choice but to start Oliver. Rutland looked horrible out there.

These dummies haven't had a winning season against I-AA comp in 4 years and 10 years removed from a championship. It is more or less misery trying to get company. These dummies not only got dragged by a D-2vegetable from their state, but loss to a team AAMU scored 49 points on. It is a low down dirty shame where this program is and how sorry they look. When they meet Valley this year, it will be for the battle of the Eastern basement. Tonight's key conference encounter is for the battle of the conference basement. Should jsue lose tonight, look for them to post an 0-11 season. I don't suspect that they will win over 2 games this year........Gospel

JRock, just in case you didn't know, we win tonight, we're in FIRST place! Life's a biatch ain't it.

Did James Bell kill Superman? Yes or no.

Did JSU throw Hughes away like a dirty butt ragg because he couldn't win a championship with Superman?

Yep they did.
The sad thing is that JSU folks on this board will not admit that even the late Coach Carson was beginning to come under fire because he had not beat SU since 95 and they backdoored the SWAC title in 96 with the help of TxSU one November evening in BR :upset:.
Some folks on the homefront I know think that helped take a toll on Big Daddy and he kept being sick quiet to keep doing his job to prove he could win the SWAC again. Po Hughes was just a casualty in all of that. He never thought he would be the HC at JSU. Such a nice guy too. But hey they even treated WC Gordon bad in the end as well. The best coach they had since Big John Merritt before he left for Tn State.
