Southern hires North Carolina A&T assistant Trei Oliver

Aggies y'all may be losing a few more coaches.
On Wednesday, Odums said he has hired North Carolina A&T assistant coach Trei Oliver to oversee the Jaguars defense. Oliver, who coached the outside linebackers and defensive ends at A&T, played with Odums at North Carolina Central and he and Odums were assistant coaches together there under A&T defensive coordinator Sam Washington.

“They’ve always played really, really good defense over there,” Odums said. “They’ve been in the top five in the country in total defense, run defense and pass defense the majority of his career. We have the talent that fits that system.”

The Aggies won the HBCU national championship when they defeated Alcorn State 41-34 in the inaugural Celebration Bowl last month.

Actually it was closed. This was simply an update on the hire being official and what to expect that was open in a new thread.

So your guess is good as mines. But I do see what you did there.
