Southern grad to bail out Grambling....AGAIN

game

Sweet, you don't know me. I'm a big support of Grambling. I've had that article since Jan. no need to post it though. But when certain kit-tail members see fit to post rumors about one personal life I take offense in that. I don't post smack without giving you the facts. Now take your a$$ back to small talk along with the rest of the kit-tail and talk about who zooming whom.

point, set, match!!!

someone close this thread because game over :emlaugh:

I guess you're one of the guys taking warm showers and holding hands with SUcks President?

BG:

I believe that the last time that GSU had a clean audit was the last year that Dr. Hicks was President. The former VP of Finance, Mr. Craig, died, and he was replaced by Melvin Davis. I work here at GSU, so I know that the last year that Mr. Davis was here, before returning to his former job (with Dan Kyle), he was only a person sitting in an office. Paper work was processed until it got to his desk, and for a year, it just sat there. He was "Not in the office" for anyone who called or came by.

He convinced the administration to purchase this "Banner" computer system supposedly because it was recommended by the UL system. But, three miles away, at LA Tech, they chose not to invest money into this computer system for the same reasons that we've encountered. It is, further, my understanding that all UL systems utilizing this system have encountered problems.

The paper that you quoted is known as an Anti-Grambling paper, except during Leonard Haynes, Republican sent to GSU by Foster, but chose not to follow his directions and was removed. During the Haynes administration, there were nothing but positive articles in said newspaper.

One other problem that I have with Mr. Davis is that I was told by someone who attended the Board meeting in January when Dr. Favors was removed as President. Mr. Davis, along with the former Comptroller (who also worked and is now working in Mr. Kyles Office) sat and laughed and scowled during this most dark day in the life of GSU. This was a time that should have been viewed by all African Americans as another attack on one of our sister institutions. But these two, I understand, sat and laughed, hunched each other, and was obviously enjoying the meeting.

Please understand that when SU hurts, then I hurt. While I may come off as a person that is against SU, believe me, it's only for athletic purposes, in general, and TSPN in specific. Otherwise, I don't allow anyone of the other race, or wanna be African Americans put my sister institution down -- and in my opinion, that is exactly what Mr. Davis did.:bawling:

Instead they merely are interested in lining their pockets and getting interests in Gambling boats (Yes I'm speaking of Greg Tarver) while watching GSU fight for survival.

Greg Traver attended "Gambling"!!!!!

Let me make it clear! Tarver is more concerned about G-A-M-B-L-I-N-G boats than he is G-R-A-M-B-L-I-N-G and the students of his Senate District. It doesn't matter whether he is a SU alum. When he campaigned for election it was as a candidate of his district, not as an SU alumnae.

I single him out because he supported legislation to require a higher out-of-state tuition fee. GSU draws a lot of out of state students, this fee hike did just what he and those other cronies wanted..reduce GSU's enrollment!

After reading all of this I find these statements interesting made by Mr. Owens.

As finance vice president, he plans to find ways to save money and make the campus attractive so students will want to come to GSU.
A finance vice president is suppose to spend money. GSU is not a bank.

[QUOTE}And he expects faculty and staff to pay heed to students: "Instead of beating on the head and chasing them away, we need to look at them as $10,000 [a year]. We need to hug those $10,000s."

This is a presidential statement

I sure hope Mr. Owens understands his position as finance vice president.

Good Luck GSU.

Any particular reason in-state students won't attend greatmess?

During the same period, Southern enrollment increased. I guess it's the cost of being Greatmessly.

The "greatmess" continues

When enrollment peaked at 7,833 in 1994_95, GSU had 946 employees. In 1999_2000 with enrollment down to 4,671, employment had climbed to more than 1,100 including workers transferred to contractors' payrolls. During the same period, instructional faculty declined from 318 to 221. (These figures come from the budgets submitted by the university to the UL Board of Supervisors and approved by the board.)
gram logic: decrease enrollment = increase in hiring.

I assume you are being "stupid" for smack purposes only! But just in case it's just another example of SUck Logic, I will explain.

The population in and around GSU is much less than the population of Baton Rouge. Although, we have a sizable number of students from the Baton Rouge area. A huge number of EBR parish students commute from home and are enrolled at SU. Isn't it safe to assume that EBR parish makes up the largest percentage of SU students?

GSU attracts students from Louisiana also, however our commuter student base is very small.

Consider:

Students from Monroe and/or Shreveport who for economical reasons chose to live at home will not commute 36 and 72 miles.

Students from Alexandria who chose to live at home can attend La. College or LSUA

Students from the Hammond Area that live at home can attend SLU. Even some students from BR make the drive to SLU.

I could go on...but hopefully you understand by now (rolleyes)!

naw naw, not being stupid. I just taught dat no in-state students were going to greatmess because they are .... well..... (just that).... A GREATMESS!!!:emlaugh:

BG,

I know some people that attended SU who are fairly intelligent. Therefore I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure that you are more than capable of discerning what is a reason and what is an excuse.

I'll help: Whenever I give an explanatory comment on this smack board, it's a reason. Whenever some non-Cartel person attempts to do likewise, it's an excuse.

See that wasn't difficult!

Peace...

Now you see why the bamas are close. Football once a year and basketball twice a year are when we get it on.

Big Mike,

Looks like BgJag, is one of those presidents you all fired.

To learned that Sweets worked in a high level position at GSU .....

I remember Suge telling me he had to give up football, but for not the same reasons as Brain Turner.

I sure would like to know where Suge worked on campus or can someone verify Suge was their classmate.

It is very important to us to know where Suge worked.

He could be the one that can change things around the campus.
