All you do is complain about the kids you teach.

Hey, let me say this is an incorrect statement. I have seen a post where Vinita stated how many of her children passed the TAKS/TAAS examination, a state required examination in Texas. It was a positive pat on the back for her efforts as a teacher. AND, if I am not mistaken (Nita correct me if I am wrong) Vinita has been promoted and she has received an award for being a great teacher. Therefore, your above statement is not correct.

Oh, and whereabout in Slidell do you live? I used to live in Bogalusa as a child.

Nita,

I can't believe you actually entertained this BayouBandit's post by explaining how you actually talked to the kids. You had the good sense to handle it the way you did, and not how you wanted to. I know I'd be in jail if I were a teacher. I'd dropkick them kids and any badass parent who didn't like it.

These damn kids need to be treated like we were. I'm glad my teachers weren't liars, because they coulda told my dad anything and he woulda believed 'em. Beat my azz, too. Thankfully, they were honest people who only told when there was something to tell. And then I got my azz beat at school and at home.

He lives in Slidell? Oh, well that says it all then.

Hey man, don't get down on Slidell! :D If I am not mistaken, that's what the thing up by his name said. "Slidell, Louisiana"

Well he probably knows about the "paper mill" and Varnado ...pronounced by the locals as Vonny-dough :angel2:

I'm sure does. We go down/up there sometimes. They also have family in Franklinton.

My father-in-law was raised in Angie.

My grandfather used to preach in Angie. I also have an aunt and an uncle that finished high school out there while he was over that church(I forgot the actual name of the church, but it was Methodist).

It's all good, man. I didn't even mean to go off like that. People saw that I have a bad temper. I tend to agree with them.

Oh, and that little yapping about not smacking an adult, all you need to know is that I am about 220 pounds and I have never had a problem with putting a "plaeboi" on his arse.

Peace out.

I know this is the internet but believe it or not 220 lbs does not scare me.

BILBREW- i offered suggestions, you offered nothing. You only shot down all my suggestions. Seems like your only plan are your fists. Only barberians use their fists. Same goes for Robber too since he agrees with you.

LadyLuck- You asked what would I do? I would ask the Principal could we hav a field trip to the prison and hav some of the prisoners speak to the kids and inform them that if they stay on the path that they or on they too will end up in prison.

However, you all got this TWISTED!! My problem isn't discipling the kids it's when Teacher's get on the World Wide Web and talk about other peoples children! He/She has other Teachers and their Spouse. You people do stray off topic. I was not attacting vinitas profession only her motive for alwayz gettin on the SWACPage talking about her students.

Since i seen on the SWACPage I hav NEVER seen a thread where Vinita sung the praises of her Students. If she has then bring that thread back.

You alls only solution in dealing with bad kids is :slap: And imma tell you this it's 2004 not 1954. Hit a kid if you want and imma see your behind on the 10 o' clock news going to jail. So i say to you all....Do what you want but there are always consequencies. Because WE HAVE LAWS!!!!

If a child HITS me, then you damned sure WILL see me on the ten o'clock news, because I intend to hit that mofo BACK ... be it YOUR child, MY child, or ANYONE else's.

These kids are larger than I am. The LAST thing I'm going to do is lose control within the confines of my classroom, because they think they can talk to me in any way, or do to me whatever they want.

I teach the worst children in the building. I'm the only one my team who has NOT been verbally (or attempted physically) assaulted by students or parents. The kid who wanted me to touch that pen was doing that as a JOKE, because, to quote him, "I would NEVER do anything like that to you on purpose, Mrs. Hegwood. You kinda crazy."

Just today, I took up a little boy's chain, because they were playing with it in class. He tried to get it from the little girl I told to give it to me, and she said, "You haven't been here long enough to know, but she told me to give it to HER, and I'm going to give it to HER. She'll give it back eventually."

And there it is.

My kids know how I feel about them. I treat them with respect. I expect it back. Furthermore, I never said I wanted to hit him. I do believe what I said was:

because my natural instinct would have been to try to throw that pen through his chest.

That might not have been your intrinsically holier than my instinct, but that sure as HELL is what I'd have done that day, TOday, or ANY other day. The circumstance, in my opinion, would have gone FAR above and beyond "Gee, that wasn't so nice, now was it?"

But whatever. You have your opinion. I have mine.

Get in a classroom. Teach some of the children I've taught during the last 10 years. Then tell me how to do my job.
