While reading this FORUM I've noticed one thing to be abundantly clear, all of you and I DO MEAN ALL, need to wake up and smell the coffee. There is a lot of BS written in this forum from schools claimiing ultimate superiority (GSU, JSU) WHEN THEY HAVE GLARING FLAWS. GSU has won the Swac title three years in a row and that is a truly great accomplishment considering all the tradition within this conference and the talented teams that compete here, but its a da*n shame when you roll into New Orleans and your own fans are affraid to cheer you because they truly don't beleive their school can beat Southern no smack just real. Affraid to cheer three time swac champion, most recognizable bcf team nationwide, on national television, in the biggest classic of all hbcu's every year.That isht ain't right. You need to check yourselves. JSU,now to mine own beloved BLUE BENGALS, we haven't done isht plain and simple according to JSU standards. Year in and year out we boast talented teams that fans want to see but we continue to disappoint, build up and disappoint, this crap has got to stop. I love JSU but dammit they can piss me off.
A lot of these schools have the right to smack the isht out of us, because we haven't done a thing to shut them up. We go on these stretches where we beat a team four or five years in a row and lose to another schools four or five years in a row, and that crap has got to stop if we are to be the best we claim to be. Otherwise we'll continue to go championless and let lesser programs get what we want and should have. We've got to get over the hump. We need to check ourselves.
Teams that used to be great but have fallen behind big time
and use bullisht diversions to try to save face( Southern, Alcorn, TexSU). It's reality check time Southern. I don't know what happened to you. You used to be the big kid on this block now you look sad. Did you all peak too soon, were you all a flash in the pan, have you lost your mojo, did you spoil your fans and are now stuck behind the eightball of expectation and are struggling to deliver where it makes you crumble under pressure. I can't call it. Worst of all if you cats did not run from Famu they sure think you did and are trying to make everybody else think it and you were our big kid and that made us look bad. One more thing the history books might not say so but print media doesn't lie, You lost that game to Miles. You need to check yourselves. Alcorn I sure do hope you are tired of hiding because the Swac ain't been the same without you. This league needs to have 8 monster teams and 2 patsies, sorry Valley and Pvu, and I thought for a while there the four spot was going to be held down by you and only you. Step it up, pick that isht up, 'cause your dragging baby and this league needs you to stand up and hold your own. Imagine a CCC where both teams can rock the spot. It would be a good rival for the Bayou and that is what the Swac needs more big time revenue and attention producing classics. You need to check yourselves. TexSU I almost forgot you were in the Swac which is a bad thing. When are you going to take your rightful place among the Western elite. That side needs to be shook up a lot, and I put that on you. Step it up and make us respect Texas. Check yourself.
To you Alabama schools get your houses in order. Alabama State congrats on beating JSU 3 years running now what else are you going to do. Last place finishes aren't really that good. One Swac championship isn't really that good. Being outdone by the new Alabama Swac school while you have been here for a while is not really that good. So why do you think you all are REALLY THAT GOOD. The Eastern division should be the toughest from just looking at what schools are in ours and what schools are in the West but the East can't make that claim if you don't get past the We beat Jackson State Syndrome and pick up a We are going to beat everybody attitude. Get it together and check yourself. Hey new kid, you're doing that thang ain't you, a few years in and already 2 SCG appearances, but get this No One Respects You At All. Why do you think that is. People respect Grambling, JSU, Southern, Alcorn, ASU and fans follow Valley and PV no matter how sorry they are because those fans love their school and thats real respect and love when you're down they are still around. I and the rest of the Swac don't see that with A&M.
Two championship games and no fan following doesn't sound too hot does it. That really does nothing to help our league. Get the fans get the respect 'nuff said.
PV, Valley get that basketball isht down and ride that horse like there is no tomorrow. Football wise just show up and make it interesting.
Last and almost least UAPB, What purpose do you serve? No Smack intended. Get an identity, get it fast and whatever you do don't let your identity be We're just here to make it TEN teams because that sucks.

SWAC FIRST ALL OTHERS LAST!!!

Blueblood makes a few valid points,but let it be know sir domanation in this conf. is and has alway been determine by who rules the most in a ten year span.
As for what happen its call the natural cycle of things and there's 7 years left.
I won't give you any excuse about us playing the hardest non-conf. schedule then any div.1aa school or the effects major injuries cause,thats a part of the game.
But if you want to have an idea what a healthy SUperior looks like I do have copies of the BC.
 
And Blueblood didn't wait for the Intake Process to be formed. Blueblood must have gotten hold of a rotten pickle. I wondering if GR, Lewis, Robber, TP, DTown, BgJag and others are listen.

Only thing about Blulblood's comment that need a response from the Dawgpound is that we didn't asked for your respect. We see Repsect in the same light as POWER. Nobody gives up POWER YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT. Blueblood we can in the SWAC with all power, therefore, you old SWACers spent too much time trying to defeat us you forget about us. But with the exception of AlState you might be right.

BTW, look for the A&M Universities to be playing in the SCG real soon. Wouldn't it be nice if PVAM take over Texas A&M and we could have AAMU playing TAMU, just like when we played FAMU. Did you know that for years everytime we met FAMU we were both 3-0 and played to standing room only crowds.

I don't normally talk to crabs but there is something about you that I like and at Summer Smack School, I am going to asked the Director of Food Services to give you an extra helping of greens each day. We serve greens every day because some smackers need an oil change.l
 
I know what blublood's problem is. He/she is one of Jock's laundry assistants, and he/she breathed too much of his special bleach while at the wash. The fumes went to his/her head, and it hasn't been the same since.


Here's a tip for ya: Before you make your next trip to the washer-ette, get you one of those masks similar to the ones the folks in Asia are wearing to avoid breathing SARS!
 
I see that instead of performing an internal audit on your programs you would rather try to belittle me or divert attention away from what I said. Let's get one thing straight I am not now nor will I ever be your enemy. I just want truth and to make our league an elite one. Sometimes before that can happen we must realize what we do wrong, what we lack and most of all come up with the correct methods to solve the problems that we all have.
I don't like the Swac the way it is now. So few great teams some good ones but so few great ones. Poor officiating that really mucks up a game. Not getting the full attention this conference deserves, because lets face it the SWAC has put some good products out athletically wise historically. That's all I want.
No need for a smack school.
 
When yall show me where BlueBlood lied, then I will get on BB's case with ya. In the meantime, the post talked about "us" to "us". BBlood's right about GSU. It's a dayum shame we lost those games in New Orleans to a football program that not as good as ours. The last two years, GSU should have beaten SU by 3 touchdowns. Until we do, we need to get our isht together.

JSU ain't nearly what it used to be or should be. At least they were willing to make a change. But I just don't see how they can really be excited about a coach who was minus 8 as a high school coach. Dude might turn out to be a good coach...but that's a helluva gamble for a team that you would have thought could have gotten better.

SU has slipped. The only reason the jags can be somewhat happy is the fact that they beat Grambling. Other than that, the program hasn't had a big win in quite some while. I feel SU/Pete is afraid of playing FAMU. Dude ain't crazy...losing like he was to Billy Joe was gonna get him fired. Forget Tulane (SU and Pete will never beat them) but even Nichols and Northwestern has turned it around. Then yall decide to run from McNeese when they put a contract on the table. Pete ain't crazy...he knows he doesn't have the talent to win these games and is afraid that yall would fire him before he can get his drop money.

Alcorn has come a long way...but they had a long way to come from. I see them getting it together in the long haul...as soon as Dr. Thomas gets moved up to Administration and they bring in the right coach, they will be okay. Alcorn has tradition and needs to bring it on back.

A&M has made progress and got a good hire in Jones. But yall will be looked upon as runnerup until you win a championship. That's just real. I admire your audacity and your spunk...but I don't respect you as a champion cuz you've never won one. Yall kinda running behind in the "take over" you promised.

Bama State surprised me with the slip from last season. Don't know what's going on with the personnel, the infighting with Adminstration but it's hurting the program. Yall hired Cole so let the man do his job. Maybe Cole is the problem...if so get rid of him. IMO, he didn't really intend to be there this long. He needs to stop signing all these jucos and transfers and concentrate on building his program via high school talent.

As for the rest of yall, well try winning some more games and then you can question what BlueBlood posted.
 
Maybe someone can help me with this. I've never been to those preseason tour meetings they have and I don't really know what they discuss but it can't be what's best for this league. You have a conference that is poorly marketed. This may be a radical idea but hear me out. Don't just take the teams that win the most and try to push them to these classic promoters and forget about the rest. Push them all. But be sensible with it. Take a school like Alcorn and look at its pluses not just its minuses. They have a decent (not outrageous) fan following, strong tradition and try to push it into a nice classic game. When the fans see that their school is finally getting face time they'll be more than ecstatic to go see them play. That would do justice to SWAC fans who want to see all the schools do well and help the school from a pubicity stand point. He!! who knows they may even win the game and think about what that could do. I may be reaching but what do you all think.
 
Great viewpoints BB but this is all talk here,send it to the SWAC office.
But remember we have a new commish that has nothing to do with this,(pass screwups) so coming at it from a standpoint of being tired of being sick and tired wouldn't be to prudent.

This two-bit johnny come-lately blueblood in his very first post on TSPN comes on the smack board, (not the sports board) creates a 10 paragraph thread, dissing every SWAC school (including his own) and you co-sign it. Even the Mafia and the NSM wouldn't touch it.

If you knew me at all, you would realize that I'm never afraid. I go into each game feeling that GSU has a better than average chance of winning. My point was that it's ridiculous that GSU has lost 2 of the last 3 to a team that we're better than...As a football program, SU and none of the rest of the SWAC is even on our level and that's just real. Our football program should be defeating the top programs in D1AA on a consistent basis...none of the other teams in the SWAC are what I consider among the top programs.

The reason I felt that Cole would leave is because the Alabama State job is all that was available after he was shown the door at Tenn State. Cole skipped out of Nashville just ahead of the recruiting investigations...I think he actually had his eye on Jackson State but settled for Bama State. He has done a decent job (until last year) but Cole wants to win at a "name" program so he can use it as a stepping stone to a D1 position. It's gonna be hard to do that at a school that is 4th best program in the Montgomery area behind Auburn, Troy State and Skeegee!

Now that yall are finishing last in the East, it seems like it's back to bizness as usual at Bama State. At least you can claim 1 championship since you've been over here...how long has it been now, 20 years since you joined. Hardly the resume of a top program.

As for co-signing...I don't necessarily follow the rules and agree with folk just because they are GSU or because they have a certain number of post or because I "fear" their reprisal. If I agree with some or all of what someone says, I say "I agree".

Now leave me alone and try to figure out how to beat someone other than those fading fools in Jackson.
 
MH you are missing the point of this whole thread. It seems to me that you feel that what I said about your school was untrue. That it was not. You need to figure out whom you are really angry at, me or your last place team. I didn't put them there. They put themselves there. I am only saying what is true. If you're better than last place prove it. Then I will be the first to say well done. Until then don't throw stones at me or anybody else. Throw them at the correct target, your last place, one championship in a generation, rule breaking coach led, joke of a team!

Sad. Somebody point out legit problems with the teams in this conference and the best the 5000 poster club can do is roll off garbage about some "intake process" or talk about one win in a last place season. The comments made about each team was right. As it stands right now, each team in this conference has to step up. Otherwise we all will be just an easy win for anybody from an outside conference to pad their schedule with.
 
BlueBlood, what you are suggesting has been discussed by members on the board. I believe we are all trying to better our programs. AAMU may not have won a football championship, but we are committed to fielding top quality teams and hiring excellent coaches to work with our student athletes . We came into the SWAC with a goal to win every championship. Since we have joined the SWAC, we have seen other teams PVAM reinstate scholarships and more support at MVSU. What we know it that SU, JSU, GSU cannot live in the past, because the conference is becoming more competative. Any team can beat the other on any given Saturday; therefore, we must be at our best on game day.

My take on SWAC officiating is that our officials think they are the best in the country which is their mindset, but what we see on the field and courts often is not the case. One major issue I have with our officiating is that they cannot manage a game or work with each other. It appears to me that some of them just have to make calls to feel lilke they earned their pay.

The bottom line blue is that we understand your concerns and I believe we are much better than we sometimes think.
