So, if you were to die today, are you sure you would go to heaven???

If that's the case then jailhouse converts who fall back into sin aren't really saved. Wow so many people going to hell. I guess Romans 10:9,10 Must have been inaccurate. You know where it says that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Wow and all this time I was thinking that meant some

It?s how we live between birth and death that counts?

Having a Eternal Home in Heaven is not ?God?s Decision?

The decision is in ?our hands? we have the blueprint, therefore we have to follow it and your home in heaven is guaranteed.

Didn't one of the criminals who was crucified with Jesus ask for forgiveness. If you notice on some pictures Jesus' cross is in the center and if you are facing the picture the cross on the right is slightly higher than the cross on the left.

I guess there's three types of posters on this message board:
1) The ones who know they're already saved now & forever, period.:)
2) The ones who are not saved, period.:(
3) The ones who know they're saved, BUT don't know if they'll keep their salvation.:uhoh:

The first category is where God wants us to be so He says things like "nothing can separate us from His love in Jesus....we're saved forever..... Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us....the salvation He provides is eternal....and the people who go to hell never knew Jesus or got saved so once you're saved, you're always saved":)

The second category is what it is.:(

The third category is people who believe that they're saved by FAITH, but only stay saved by WORKS. Or, Jesus saves you initially, but then it's up to your to keep yourself saved.:uhoh:

So if they sin, they loose their salvation. If they get hit by a car and die before they get resaved, then they believe that they'll go to hell.:|

Saints believe different things. I'm in the first category.

Yes, God will forgive you of your sins. But, that does not men that you will go to heaven. That?s like saying ?All? people baptized will be saved.

Please do not get confession mixed up with belief / faith. Some people thing ?Lord forgive me? and that the end of it, no, no, no. The word ?believe = pisteuo [committed unto, conviction] ? mean to have faith.

Believe, it or no most people just only ?believe? in the existence of God, but do not have faith. Most people say yes ?I believe? but do not have faith. Although the word ?believe? is misused and misunderstood as it relates to their spiritual life.

Dr.

Yes, but that was a different time and under different circumstances. At that point, they did not have the Gospel and the Lord, could save ?on the spot? Now, we have the Gospel and everyone must obey. They were under the Old Law, we are under the New Law ?

Consider

God's grace and love sent Jesus to die on the cross for every man (Rom. 3:24; 5:6-8). However, not everyone is saved (Matt. 7:13, 14, 21-23). Why not? If grace, love and the death of Christ saves, why is not everyone saved?

The answer is that God's gifts of forgiveness and eternal life are conditionally received (Rom. 1:16; 2:4; 5:1; 6:17, 18, 23; 10:9, 10).

Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved,?..1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Read 1 Peter 4:17 ? 19

Because a person is baptized or confess Jesus, that does not mean they are saved, but their sins were forgiven. It?s comes down to obeying the Gospel or not obeying.

the blueprints for salvation: John 6:47, Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9, John 3:16
August 11, 2006 11:11 AM )

This person who posted on here a blueprint for salvation but didn't list every scripture that had the way of salvation in it.

Why were these verses not included?
Galations3:27
Mark16:16
Acts2:38
1Peter3:20-21

All these verses say how to be saved so how did your blue print miss these.
They are true just as the ones you posted are true. All Steps need to be taken is my only point.

My question is this: Is Anyone of these verses more important than the other or are all these verses equally important and neccesary?

By the way, Jesus was talking in Mark16:16

I'm positive ;)

I'm positive that Jesus is the Son of God.
I'm positive that Jesus came to earth, lived Holy, died, and rose for my salvation.
I'm positive that I believe all of that.
I'm positive that the Bible says if you believe that then you're justified for Heaven.

I'm positive ;)

If you're not sure, and you're a christian, saved by faith, then you can be sure from now on. ;)

Excellent points

Remember, there are words in the bible that mean different things depending on how you use them.
Ex: God, Love, Salvation.

1. When they used the word God in the old testament, in the original text, they often meant Jehova Jirah, or El Shaddai, or Elohim specifically. Those names were used to reference the Father in various ways; though our bible today normally just says 'God'. -OT

2. When they used the word Love in the bible, in the original text, they often meant Agape, Phileo, or Eros specifically. Those were used to reference different levels of Love; though our bible today normally just says 'Love'. -John 21:15-17

3. Likewise, when the word Salvation or Saved is used in the NT, in the original text, the context was often either justification, sanctification, or glorification specifically. Each one of those references different situations; though our bible today normally just says 'Salvation' or 'Saved'.

What's the difference?
Justified for heaven = faith alone
Sanctified on earth = faith + works
Glorified IN heaven = when we go there

Look at who's using the word 'Saved' in the NT, AND the context of how they're using it.
James used the word Saved in James 2:14 when walking to Christians. Christians. Why would he tell Christians about being Saved when they're already Christians? Because, he was talking about saved (sanctification which is Faith + Works), and NOT saved (justification which is Faith alone).

Again, look at who's using the word and how they're using it. If saved (justification) is the topic than you can experience this verse if you're saved:
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.
