Uh, I don't deal in "speculation". This game was "confirmed" way before last week. That is a FACT. It's YOU who are "speculating" by indicating that new AD "had a hand in this." He did not. He didn't begin working at Grambling until January. That too is a FACT.
Sheesh!
This game was a given before the new AD was even hired, lord lol
Had this game already been confirmed.....why is it JSU did not have it in their schedule when it was released? The press release clearly states they were still in discussions to have Gram on the schedule but it had not been finalized as of that date.
I do believe if the date was already confirmed it would have been included? So yes the NEW AD at GRAM had to put in on this madness.

Exhales slowly........so you are telling me the new AD put the Clark Atlanta game into the schedule????!!!!GSU's schedule wasn't released when we found out we were playing Jackson State and it wasn't released because we were looking for one more game which is against Clark Atlanta in Chicago. You aren't in the know like you think you are lmao
Exhales slowly........so you are telling me the new AD put the Clark Atlanta game into the schedule????!!!!
So you are saying the new AD worked on this year's schedule????!!!!
Exhales slowly again.............some things....
Some of you all fail to realize that this isn't the SEC or ACC. Money games trump all this other stuff yall are talking about just like the SCG trumps playoff games.
Due to our struggling budgets, I don't blame AD's for following the money.
Shhhh, don't speak the truth.

Make your mind up. One minute you are pissed that JSU and GSU are playing, the next minute you're somewhere else lmao

You have NEVER seen where I was pissed about this. Hell the entire SWAC is in need of money. What people are failing to realize is it's not the "laziness of the ADs" it's the fact many of our fans will not show up to the stadium for a game against an unknown team. That's a fact. I'm calling out the folks mad at the ADs for making a money decision. Research my stance before you claim to know where I stand. I'm not all over anything just laughing at the people mad at the ADs over a mandate that is a Catch 22, yea we got to play money games that get our players beat to death. Yea we want to play better FCS competition to build our brand, yea we would like to play more SWAC/MEAC games. But at the end of the day how much of that is making our schools the money we need to make each year?
It's the same reason Gram is moving their game with TXSO to Shreveport, money. Y'all can sit all day and get mad at some of the ADs but this is about money. If it wasn't why does someone like Gram don't just play TXSO at their own stadium? Why does JSU travel to Mobile to play a D2 school, money. Yes we want Classics to send our fans to, but what about the true on campus home games? Do we really expect our fans to show up to home games against unknown OOC teams.
The SWAC hasn't changed for years with attendance. And that has nothing to do with the ADs thats on the fans. The same fans and alumni that don't give back to the schools like the bigger schools. That's not trying to start another arguement or talk noise it's the truth.
Man our AD's are lazy as fuck. If they were not they would press their presidents to hold Duer Sharp accountable.
Next...you are from Alcorn and should be aware that for a long time the opening game for Alcorn and GSU was the Red River Classic in Shreveport which has always been a second home for GSU. So that is a null factor in the debate.
Duer is not helping us just as our own fan base is not helping itself. Until the fans push the schools and then the schools push Duer its all jacked.
The Red River Classic was always a great game to start the season but that game was there for both teams to make money. Why can't these games be at each school respective campus to show recruits the atmosphere? When this game was at it's height we didn't have the Sun Belt, MAC and C-USA schools poarching our recruits. Now that those schools are doing that we got to show the kids how great the SWAC can be with multiple big games on campus.
Also our fan base has dwindled badly. The older generation is dying off and the younger generation don't go to games unless it's homecoming and that's if they attend that. When I was growing up people took in not only Alcorn games but big JSU games and big SU and big Gram games, as well as attending multiple classics. Those were the days when the SWAC didn't kill itself by having multiple big games, GSU vs JSU, Alcorn vs SU, or Ala State vs AAMU on the same weekends. Some of these have not happened but recently there have been multiple games where some casual fans have tried to pick where to go instead of the league setting it where there was one great game to attend. Every AD worked together to make this league great.
True we may have a few ADs that aren't doing their share but for the most part our ADs have to juggle making money games as well as making a quality schedule.

No, I don't think we "fail to realize" anything. It was the need for more "money games" that led to the conference going to the seven format. The argument (and much larger point) is that (1) the SWAC commissioner failed to put parameters in place to forbid member schools to play against each other, and (2) some of our ADs are simply either too lazy, too undisciplined or simply don't give a damn about following rules.
So you support money games?
Depends.
With all the ranting you doing from thread to thread, that sounds as wishy washy as a conference mandate.
No, what he is telling you is that the new AD had NOTHING to do with this schedule.
As of now, Grambling's schedule still hasn't been OFFICIALLY released. (SMH).
Thanks JayRob for speaking and sharing "FACTS".Some of you all fail to realize that this isn't the SEC or ACC. Money games trump all this other stuff yall are talking about just like the SCG trumps playoff games.

Man I'm telling ya...dude has an issue with anyone who disagrees with him.
Wait so asking you what is the contingency plan is whining?
Being angry about our athletic department scheduling JSU in a non-conference game is whining?
Man look I done made an entire thread for you on the smack board. As far as calling you a grumpy old man hell we crack on Might Dog about not taking his meds when he post. You don't see him on here crying like a ex wife going through menopause.
Hell you running about as much as anybody else on this page. The only person posting with true ownership is Kenn. Hell damn near every thread where some interesting is discussed is closed because of your clown ass. You bitch and moan with an attitude about anyone who disagrees with you. Man sit your ass down some where.
