"They were talking about playing me at defensive back at Southwestern Louisiana, and I didn't want to play defensive back," Scott continued. "I want to play linebacker. That's my natural position."
JSU has a new LB that runs well enough to play DB.....6 2 235 and can play DB. If this guy pans out, do you realize how fast our defense is going to be. Actually, I hope we place this guy at DE.

damn GR
you used to be......

but now you on here bragging about some flunkie who has already been to 3 different colleges and havent done a damn thing at any of them.

what was that spill you used to say about transfers????
oh yeah, that ONLY applies to other schools and not jsue!

:lmao::lmao:

"He approached us a while back, and then he took care of everything as far as getting into school here. I figured if he wanted to come here that bad, we'll take him. He's a speed guy. We'll have to wait and see him on the field in practice, but he should help us." -Coach Bell on Scott.

Don't get it twisted, MH. He still has to earn his keep. We don't just promote folks to the top of the depth chart or refer to them as our saviour. Cadillac Williams could transfer here and it wouldn't be a difference. We are.......
JSU;)

This is the most significant statement. This goes to show what being a member of JSU is all about. We dont beg people to come to JSU. We dont entice them with strippers....cause Moet aint gone be on the field no where. We dont cheat, we dont change grades, we dont call folks illegally, we dont make promises, we dont tell folks "you are going to be the starter", we dont put loser transfers in the newspaper in every article as if they did something while at SW Borderline Louisiana State University, we dont put transfers on the second team All SWAC list, you will not be in our media guide as a starter, and we will not sell out our program for you....never. And do you know WHY?

WE ARE JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY

Do you see how we treated this kid? "Yeah...if you are interested, do the things that YOU need to do to get here, get in school (on your own), and then we MIGHT let you earn a spot on the team." We dont sell our soul for a player cause we understand that the PROGRAM is more important than any player. We have pride (SU). We have ethics(ASU). We have class (GSU). We have talent (1-13).

You guys need to learn these traits. This way people will respect you more. We usually dont have spot for transfers anyway. Hell where is he going to play?

LMAO@just how quick you changed that one up!!!!!
At first, you bragged about him running "well enough to play DB", but now the "most significant statement" is that he got into school on his own.
:lmao: :lmao:

btw, Did this guy play DB, LB, or both at Pearl Community College?
:lmao: :lmao:

Man...... We got 1 transfer. Unlike others, we don't have to herd 1-a washouts to JSU. This 1 guy came to us.

Just answer the question and stop diverting!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he played LB.

Did you notice the difference between what Bell said about him and what Cole(oops!!) said about Jackson and Williams when they transferred? He all but said those guys would save your season.

83,
Yes, to my knowledge, they're playing

kool-aid,
The difference is that Jackson and Wms are skillful, big time playmakers. This jsue guy here is going to his 4th school, so who would say anything about him, as being good (other than GR)....but then again, even GR has backed up off that one.

Skillfull bigtime playmakers? You must mean when they were highschool players, because Williams barely got off the bench at TU, and Jackson couldn't beat out that tall, weak-armed white boy at Arkansas.

But having said that, you missed my point. My point is: you didn't see nothing wrong with the fact that your (former)coach had to rely on PWC leftovers? The difference isn't in the caliber of player(Scott is highly skilled as well), the difference is instead of us pratically rolling out the red-carpet for this guy, we allowed him to come on and compete for a job like everyone else. Cole proclaimed your guys saviors as soon as their paper work was completed.

Is the 9th string RB from Tenn eligible?
Didnt Cosby put the choke hold on him?
And what was that about his mother saying she wishes he could go to another school? hhhmmm?
But when I say I wouldnt let my child go to ASU, I sooo wrong.

Yall are sad....

Nope, you're so right on that count.

koolaid,
Where have you seen that those guys were given positions? True it was hyped up in the LOCAL media because they're both LOCAL guys who were arguably the biggest recruits to come out of Montgomery in awhile.

Noy just the local media, it was over-hyped by Cole as well.

"Getting those two guys is absolutely huge for us," said Cole. "These are two of the biggest name guys to come out of this area in a long time."

"We've got to find a quarterback to run this offense," Cole said a few weeks ago. "You saw how it was without a solid quarterback. We've got to find someone willing to put in the time to learn this offense and someone that has the athleticism to run it."

Cole believes Jackson is that man.

"He's a perfect fit," Cole said. "He's got the arm and the athleticism to run the show. He's a lot like Darnell Kennedy."

"We've got our eyes on a couple of big guys out there," said Cole. "With the signing of Williams and Jackson, we should really get some recognition now. This could be a big stepping stone to getting some good recruits this year."

Is recruiting at Bama state so hard that you need transfers to put you on the map? If so, that is really sad.:(

Hornets land transfers

Cole said he expects the additions of Williams and Jackson to bring a few more fans out to the Hornets home games.

"These two on the field for us mean at least 8,000 more fans in the stands," he said. "We may have to schedule a few more home games."

Cole said he hoped the signing of Williams and Jackson makes up for the below-average season ASU had this year.

"This is my Christmas gift to the Hornet fans," he said. "I wasn't able to deliver on a conference title like I promised, but I hope this makes up for it. Next year should be a fun year around here."

Having fun yet Cole?

kool-aid,
If ASU already had a QB in place, then you might have a point. The coaches went out and came back with "two of the biggest name guys to come out of this area in a long time".
Tell me what's wrong with that?

What's wrong with that? You mean to tell me that you all do not have a QB in place? No one that was solid enough to have been there after Crenshaw to understand Cole's offense? No one that has stepped up their game to say that they could give Jackson a run for the starting spot?

:smh:
