Should UT AD and FANS be mad?

No doubt this was "leaked" after it was revealed he would get one more year

There is no loyalty in college football. 80% of the coaches are looking for the next opportunity because it's better to leave one year too early than one year too late

You damn right there is no loyalty in college football. In my opinion, college football is a business.

Let them suffer! Keep running them in the ground Herman! They openly flirted with Nick Saban in Mack Brown's face and ended up having to settle for Charlie Strong. Then the same "voices" disrespected Strong by openly courting Herman. Texas is a disaster because every rich donor believes they can control everything (and they have a lot of them). They are like the Dallas Cowboys (they're a dumpster fire as well) but with several "Jerrys" meddling in the affairs of the football program.

Nolan Richardson said what many coaches have said:

"After you create the monster, you have to feed the monster."

Austin is many miles from New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston, where demanding fans are media are. Yet, Longhorn fans can be very demanding. Let's not forget the Longhorn Network, which helps to put Texas on another level, along with Notre Dame, financially. Longhorn fans expect a lot. Mack Brown felt the heat. He left eight years after winning the national title in 2005.

Saban, who does not like the "Jerry's" (boosters) meddling, did the right thing by not going there.

Yes, college football is a business, a very big business.

It is a business unless one is wholeheartedly committed and faithfully loyal to bring it to life-status, like the Mr Eddie Robinsons, Jake Gaithers, William Nicks, Ace Mumfords, WC Gordens, et al did.
Well, you are absolutely correct. The days of the coaches that you named are long gone. And someone please correct me if I am wrong, I can't find where Eddie Robinson(Grambling), Jake Gaither(FAMU), W.C.Gorden(Jackson State) was head coach at any other school. Imagine that in today's world.

They COULD be mad or they could try and see what his motivations are that he would call them iver being at UT now. I don't see the pull unless there's other issues besides donors he cannot get with. Tbh...when he left UofH like Sumlin did, I SAW him throwing away the chance to be even better as a coach. You think you're Saban level? Have you beaten Saban? Beaten more than three who've beaten him? No? Daphuck you wanna go to UT for? They're so bleed donor Orange they don't even CARE that College Station actually still exists. Lmao

They are still around at the lower levels (D3 and NAIA) but are rare even there.

I think McNair MIGHT be the only HBCU coach who could stay at Alcorn for life because of his connections to the school and Mississippi. Everyone else has one eye on the next job

The pay and perks of the job back then wasn't like today. Self-branding, royalties....checks hit different now.

For Sarkisian...iiiii don't see the upside. My mother aint happy. Lmao (she's a UT grad, HT legacy).

One day people will learn...Saban makes Bama football go..... it aint the assistants. Bama has had a different OC every year since when.... same results. None of them can beat him.

Their cable channel has led to the downfall of UT sports. I don't think UT has a sports problem, they have a conference problem. They destroyed the Big 12 with their cable deal. With players having opportunities in the SEC, Big 10 and the ACC, the Big 12 is left out in the cold. They have money, but no winners, money is more important than winning. If they were smart, they would drop their channel, create a BIG 12 channel and add the University of Cincinnati and Memphis to the BIG 12.

Notre Dame has a similar problem with NBC, they need to be in the ACC. They have money, but no winners, money is more important than winning. They need to drop their football deal and become a member of the ACC.

I heard that the SEC and Big 10 schools top to bottom receive more money than ND or UT from cable deals I don't know if that is true.

They are gonna find out when Saban retires. I really feel sorry for the guy who succeeds him. That is gonna be a tough act to follow. Just saying.
