SHOULD THE BOOMBOX CLASSIC BE IN JACKSON....

First of all, JSU fans don't come because y'all rape us on the tickets that you give out. Then personally , I don't want my car damaged, shot at, robbed, piliged, run a muck, landed on Plymouth rock........oh my bad, I had a Denzell moment. ;)

Like I said, I am more then happy that ya'll don't come.

Nah man, You have to be a Jag to understand. We don't like FAMU at all. It goes way deeper than the JSU thing. But see their fans are just like ours. They aint sced and will roll up on you. We kindred spirits. But the strange thing is that nothing really pops off. But I remember they threw stuff at us(Jukebox) when we came into Bragg back in the 80s. Believe me aint no love lost between us two. But you would have to be a Snake and a Jag to understand that.

I think SU fans just like intimidating JSU fan in Mumford. FAMU fans relish it. LOL. Hell I had them talking isht me in Shoneys one year after the game and the place was full of Jags. But they do roll deep when they come to Mumford. It is a different kind of rivalry.

See JSU didn't give a damn about SU back in the 70s and 80s. SU was just a nice homecoming game for JSU. The Jukebox got much love in Jackson. It was all good. SU would put the score on the field and of course JSU would be winning and yall loved some SU. Remember back in the early 80s before I went to SU, I attended JSU games as a JSU fan. I would hear the JSU fans say, we like Southern......they bring a nice crowd......we get to whoop their arse and see their nice band. It was all good........well once SU started beating JSU regularly then all of a sudden JSU fans had no love for SU. It wasn't even a rivalry before hand except for the bands. But once SU fans had the audacity to talk isht when we started winning when Pete arrived. It became personal for yall. JSU folks were like damn we already had trouble with Grambling now SU done got good. Only difference was the Jag Nation who was already arrogant became even more so and had something to back it with. So the rivalry blossomed in the 90s. If JSU had done to SU what they had in the 70s and 80s these last 15 years then we wouldn't be talking about this. So to compare the SU vs JSU rivalry to SU and FAMU is not the same. SU and FAMU have hated each other since 1941.

Finally! The truth is out. Now I see why yall don't wanna get rid of Pete. Boy those were the good ole days when JSU used to whoop up on su, like last year. Once Pete leaves after this year, let the whuppings resume.:emlaugh:

JR,

Quit lying dude...you may be from Jackson, but you never were a true Blue Bengal....LOL

Just tell me about tickets on the East Side of the stadium. How many rows up in section 8 do I need to be in order to get a great view? I aint been to BR in some years man.

Man I had nothing but love for JSU before 83. I still love yall like a play brother though.

As far the Stadium is concerned you need be up at least 15-20 rows in my opinion. I like sitting up a little higher than most folks to see the plays develop. But remember Mumford is not as high as Memorial so you should be fine. Not really a bad seat unless you are stuck in the corner by the band

jr. eerrhhhh i mean jayrob--

S.U. has a coach in the college Hall of Fame........with somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 national titles and producing 35 All Americans well before Pete arrived.............Mumford is not just a stadium. :emlaugh:

What does that have to do with anything. It's just like JR said.....before Pete, JSU dominated su, plain and simple. After Pete's gone, it will start all over again, just you wait and see.
Please let Pete go.....pleeeeese!!

Dude

Show me where GR said anything about a damn ticket. GR gets an ample amount of tickets for the SU game. GR could care less about that.

Come on man...stay on the subject. The proposal to bring the game to Jackson is a good business proposal. The other aspects are a bonus.

A good BUSINESS decision on this has to involve tickets. BTW, some of your Tiger friends need help in that area .... you might want to lend your expertise.

Why would I as business man SU want to have control over half of the tickets in Memorial and lose parking and concessions, granted, it may be more than 9,000 seats extra when I can control 25,000 seats, parking, concessions, and NOT have to pay any rental fee.

Even if you gave up the parking and concessions, personally I still wouldn't do it. My fans being comfortable in their stadium is MORE important than any deal Jackson could put up. I cannot ask my fans to do that EVERY year and take one if not the best on campus game other than FAMU off campus.

Plus tailgating and RV fees :swink:. Add in the fact SU tickets are more expensive, we would lose money if we would move the game when you think of transportation and hotels for the team, band, and cheerleaders.

Sarg, there are NO traffic jams like the traffic going over that bridge to slumford stadium. Memorial has at least four major entrances to the stadium, but su has how many.....two?

That's the least of the problems though. It's mighty interesting that you chose to point this minor fact out. Guess you agree with the other part of the statement, that is the cheating, the bullet ducking and the destruction of the property of visiting fans. This is why people don't like going to the Slumf.

Bull......Woodrow Wilson to the stadium.....!!!!!!!!!

PS.....maybe the hint of going in a rental.....
unmarked with ANY SCHOOL stuff in clear view will help......
No flags...No Pom Poms, etc

opps.....rental with NO MISSISSIPPI TAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw you this past week in Mumford with your Sonic Boom shirt on. Did anybody mess with you? I mean, if the rest of these fools that scared, surely a man with the BOOM's shirt on got screamed at and harassed in Mumford, right?

And taking pics of the Jukebox with that shirt on... surely they must have had an argument about that right?

It is different. It was a game against PV and Southern. Had it been JSU and SU then he would have had some problems. It's like when we play Valley you get hate stares at that game with JSU Pari on but show up doing any other game and its all good.

Jackson State just does not travel well. When the game was in New Orleans, they did not come. That is why we had to move the game back to Baton Rouge........People, that is end of the story and FACT......Basically, they are Homers...

Dude.

You dont make anywhere near 1 million dollars a game with parking/concessions/ect. 900K is a conservative estimate.

if you had a decent stadium, then GR would say move the game to that stadium annually. The best team is going to win the game regardless....the fans are going to come. Lets move the game somewhere where both schools can get rich. We have to start thinking big time and not small time.

Dude SU tickets prices makes up the difference. SU tickets are $28-$52. SU stadium seats 25,500. Being conservative 25,500 * $28= $714,000 off ticket sales alone.

JRock, you forgot two words.......james b*ll!!

That's not true. The JSU/SU football game drew 57,000 in 1983.

Tiger G........we aint talking about crowds. SU and JSU fans have always supported the game in Jackson. I was speaking on the hostility or attitude towards the game as a rivalry. JSU fans look at SU differently in the 80s because they were beating us. When all that changed it became friction between the 2. Before the 90s the JSU and SU game was a band rivalry only. It got intense once SU football started winning against JSU and winning the SWAC. This has nothing to do with the crowds. LOL

You only outnumbered us in New Orleans in 2004. We outnumbered y'all in 2000 and 2002. Not to mention how we travel to Grambling and Memphis.

You gotta be kiddin' me. Is this the smack board.....because that was just dumb. Hell, who's gon travel to see that bullshat when Bell was coaching? Before then.....JSU traveled. And travels now. You moved the game back to Baton Rouge so you could cheat again. :spin:

Bell was not there in 2000.....Again, you all don't travel well. We carried the crowd against you and and Tulane that year. However, Tulane had more fans than you all even though neither them or jsu brought a significant amount of fans. S.U never cheats visitors. However, we have a lot of visitors that come to Mumford and get beat because they are not on our level. Those dummies normally claim that they were cheated. However, those clowns pride was just hurt. You cannot come to The Ace half stepping or the Jags will step all over you........That is just the way it is......

I sit at the top as well. I had a very good view and will sit exactly where I sat last week, tomorrow.

You do realize that there was about 50,000 in attendance for that game in 2000. And the Southern-Tulane game drew about 40,000. I guess everybody was an SU fan, huh. :emlaugh:
