What if schools like FAMU,JSU,GSU,or SU invested in stadiums with 40-50k capacity.JSU has at least 4 huge home games a year with MVSU 36K,Alcst 55k,SU or TSU 50-55K,HC 30-40k and a classic venue vs FAMU,A&T or HIU 40-50K.For JSU with ticket and concessions 1.575 in revenue per game.FAMU has HC 30-40K easily,SU 40-50K easily in a bigger stadium,TSU 50-60K,BCC 70K and a classic vs ASU,TU,AA&M 40k.The revenue from these games would pay huge dividends for the respective schools.

Well I am sure we(SU) are going to do such. We are in Phase 2 renovations of Mumford and their more to follow. JSU has use of a 63,500 seat stadium, so they are already set. FAMU probably should expand Bragg. I am sure you'll see expansion for some of our HBCU stadiums. Of course we all know there are politics involved in getting funding. Most states do not give schools money for their stadiums. So it will be up to us as alumni and the school themselves to raise money to increase the capacity of our stadiums. I would love to see SU with a 40k stadium.

????

Bison, why is that HU do not play the game (HC) at RFK?

My only thought would be all the activities going on outside of the game. I've been to HU's HC for the past five years and the atmosphere is great but getting into the game SUCKS!!!!

AC86 students wanted the game back on campus since it is homecoming afterall.I agree on the traffic issue and ain't no way I'm parking in Ledroit.:eek2:

USM stadium held 35,000 and the it didn't use up much land space, so building and 35,000+ stadium on a campus is not impossible. JUst think how many seats the stadium could have it if had regular stadium seats behind each end zone. NT, has had good stadium designs ideas in the past. The problem it would pose for JSU, is current construction already being in the way and parking.

This has came up before as far as JSU, and I agree with the school it makes no since for us to get an on campus stadium now we have the use of Memoral it is one of the biggest in 1-AA and we pay little or nothing for it, why not keep it.

Now in like 5 or 6 years if we have the land and space then yes it would be cool to have one on campus, but I really don't see that happening
