hhhhmmmmm......Folks jumped all on Carmelo for the stop snitching video. As many of our folks have died due to gang violence, I find nothing wrong with denouncing that culture as often as it is brought forth as mainstream.

Totally different. One is advocating covering up crimes, the other is a dance.

Then I guess that is how "WE" were raised. Being from the area, I knew about crip walking before it became cool. And what she was doing isn't even close to what the original crip walk was. The only thing most of you THINK you know is "CRIP". If the dance was called anything else...we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I don't condone violence. I'm sure Serena doesn't condone gang violence. It's a freakin dance gott dammit.

its a west coast dance... I could pull up a youtube clip now with BLOODS doing the C walk. This dance doesnt glorify the Crip lifestyle..... this is a Cali thing.

Sidenote: OG gangsters who were bloods called it the "blood walk". :lol: And if you are not throwing up signs in the process...you are not advocating shit. It is just a dance.
 
People associate the dance with the gang so they say she's glorifying the gang. But in my search of the dance, (I'm behind a firewall at work and cant view You Tube videos), I had to find other videos and one video was from the UK where a white, UK female was showing step by step how to do the Crip walk, so apparently they don't see it glorifying a gang. So why does America?
 
So I guess every time a person says "What up folks", they are now advocating the gangsters disciples. Every time a old man says "What's up young blood", they're referring to the street gangs bloods.
 
Maybe I'm just old, I thought she was just dancing; didn't know it has a name. I bet 90% of America didn't know it either.

People used that term way before the gangster disciples. And I never saw that dance here in St. Louis till the Crips came out here. And their arrival started a nasty bloody gang war. That song, Summer Vacation from Ice Cube is the nice version. They had ninjas out her killing cats, digging them up and placing the body from the grave at they momma house. Called it killing you twice. And when i go to LA and drive through the hood, it has decimated so many people. I just dont care for it. Which made me turn my back on some of my favorite Rap acts growing up, like CMW and such.....It is what is is.

I knew SOGGY was going to set this straight. My folks in Cali said the same thing. Nobody said nothing when the rappers were doing it either. White America loves Snoop Dogg when he does it. LOL.
