You sure you weren't at gay functions from the start? :emlaugh: This is the main reason why I only attend functions that the invitation caters mainly to heterosexual couples. In cities like DC and especially Atlanta, a person needs to read their invitation THOROUGHLY.

man, gay dudes run black politics. If it is political in nature, you will see a lot of those brothers. I remember last year going to a cbc reception and literally the first ten guys I met were questionable. Honestly, I am mature enough now that I can be real and say I have a few gay friends but the %'s in this city can sometime be eye-popping.

There is one cat I am cool with that I finally came to realize that he has been married to a man for a few years and just didn't want to tell us. Dude got married four years ago and to this day, I have never seen a picture of his spouse. I am going to finally ask dude one day.

I'm just messing with you man, because I know in some professions, it's unavoidable, which is unlike Kendrick's so-called limited contact he has with gays and lesbians. But if its related to just some causal event, I'm checking to see what type of entertainment, activities, and key words like, put on by the Pink Flamingo Boys Entertainment Production, Inc.

What?

The folks at ESPN know he's a Christian fundamentalist. Why should he be suspended when he was asked his thoughts about Collins being gay and professing to be Christian?

.

So what if a White ESPN sports analyst says that the Old Testament god intended for Black folks to be slaves of all people because of Ham's sin, how would this be any different from Broussard's actions when he uses the bible to condemn gay folks?
Can you tell me with a straight face that the White analyst wouldn't be fired in less than 24 hours?

I need context to give a sufficent answer. I need to know what line of questioning would lead dude to make such statements.

And Jason spent a good deal of his career playing for the Hawks (2009–2012). I guess that would explain a lot. :emlaugh:

Ironically, former NFL player Wade Davis said on the Jason Whitlock podcast that the place to be for that lifestyle is NYC.

NY, LA, ATL, San Fran, Minneapolis (believe it or not), and probably some other big NFL and NBA cities are good places to be like that. Makes sense to me.

I would imagine places like KC, Green Bay, J'Ville, Charlotte etc may be a little tougher.

Because a lot of them want to flaunt it in your face. I don't hear the Doogie Howser cat complaining. I know some gay folks who feel like some exploit the way that they are for their own selfishness. They are not getting kicked to sleep on every street corner Kendrick. The Gays in the ATL damn near run that mofo. Same for San Francisco. So excuse me if I don't have an overwhelming sympathy for their struggle. What they want is the law to let them get married. Most companies already give benefits for partners. I say let them get married if that's what they want. But if no minister of his faith wants to conduct those ceremonies, then they should have a right to say no. If the states want to take on this and make it legal then they should bear the responsibility of seeing them have a civil union. But no Priest , Rabbi or Minister should have to go against their faith to perform those ceremonies.

I see them in the workplace and I have seen some in my very conservative Fortune 500 company move up the ladder. It isn't as bad as some of them make it be. I just don't buy into it. Do they run into prejudice folks? Sure they do. Are they discriminated against by some idiots? I am sure. But that is where you take legal recourse. They are not deprived of that. No different than anyone else.

I am for human rights. To be treated with dignity and equality. But I am also a realist. You can't change people's opinions about folks. Simple as that.

That's the point. Many of them don't just want a new right (it's not an equal right, but a new right) to do what they want but they also want you to have to agree with what they are doing. right now you can't even say you think homosexuality is wrong without being treated like your an anti-Semite. at some point i think they will come after the church, and unfortunately us church folks are so cowardly we will give in. there is no other facet of life in which you are judged by your feelings and not your actions.

Because what the white analyst said is false and what Broussard said is correct in the Bible. We are living in a sad nation when you are fried for having an opinion that is different from our controlled media!

That's a matter of religious opinion one could say and you'd have no way of proving a right or wrong interpretation. This is what usually happens when religious ideation is interpreted as being irrefutable fact and differing opinions. There are always gray areas.

And what part of men shall not sleep with men is an opinion?

@ JayRob:It is hard for people who have strong religious convictions to waver from things they've been told not to question and accept as fact their whole lives. You're really fight a losing a battle in that regard. You should expect Chris Broussard to stay true to his beliefs. It was just like folks going HAM over what the CEO of Chick-fil-A said in reference to same-sex marriage when he was interviewed by a Christian newspaper. What did you expect him to say? Dude is a professing Christian.

@Whines: Not everyone agrees that homosexuality is sin. There are people (even some Christians) out there who believe homosexuality wasn't even mentioned scripture at all. Shoot, you have people that believe God doesn't exist and the Bible is one big book of made up or stolen tales used to control the masses.

The moral of the story is you're not going to change the way people think about this thing. Both sides are firmly planted regarding this issue.

Time has changed a lot of the teachings/interpretations of the Christian Church over the last 2 thousand years. Time will resolve this issue just as it has done with slavery and the treatment of women. This Christian focuses on the Gospels and the teachings of Christ annotated in them.

No one has to waver from anything, however at times it is prudent to simply say that I have my own personal beliefs and I'd rather keep them to myself. Broussard could've said that and moved on to the next question. Now if he's in a private conversation with close friends, then maybe he could really say what he wanted to say at that point and time.

Jesus was such a opponent of gay marriage. I wonder what he said in the scripture...

Matthew...
Mark...
Luke...
John...
Acts...
Revelations...???

JagHammer, you seem to be an intelligent guy, why would God supposedly create something in his own image and then oppose it? Why even create it if it's f-ed up?

Gays, lesbians, drag queens, transgenders and gay marriages, I think it's a bit late to quote bible scriptures, the cat is out of the bag and has been since the beginning of time.

Homosexuality is in nature. They had to introduce a female penguin at the Pittsburgh Zoo, and the two male penguins still clung together.

IMO., your example only proves that homosexuality is a learned behavior. Those two male penguins were caged together for so long that they LEARN how to screw each other. By the time they inserted a female penguin, they had already figured out how to satisfy themselves without the need of a female penguin. My sister's poodle has taught himself how to screw the crap out of a stuff monkey they gave him. When it come to animals, typically humans are the reason why they are forced to do something out of the natural order of things, which is why domestic animals have to be re-trained before releasing them into the wild or they would never survive long afterwards.

My yorkie tries to screw every stuffed toy given to him, because his sexual desire and programming to procreate is innate. Now as far as human sexuality, we have a long ways to truly understanding why we have our preferences, but in animals, I personally think it is innate.

You may be on to something about the penguins. How about the bisexuality of bonobos?

Some animals might have taught themselves be bisexual, but in most cases, in the wild, there's always the male animals fighting each other over the female animals of their kind. And whichever male wins, they are given the pleasure to procreate with the females. The other males go somewhere to lick their wounds and their balls to fight another day.
