Scattered JSU boos heard throughout the stadium


Read Rusty Hampton's column in the Clarion Ledger this morning. I knew it was coming, it just took him a day to write it. Losing to Delta State was hard enough to take, now here comes the superiority complex. And then to say there will not be a rematch as if JSU is scared to play Delta State again is Glory Road comment if I have never heard one.

Got damn it, schedule them and beat them for all our sakes.

What do you mean for ALL our sakes? It's not like we're the ONLY SWAC school whose lost to a d-2 school.

Where was all this when valley got drug up and down the field 45-0 by delta state? Where was all this when north alabama waxed aamu 13 times? Where was all this when alabama state consistently got waxed by d-2 tuskeegee? su and nccu?

Most, if not every school in the SWAC has lost to a d-2 school at some point and time, so don't point fingers at JSU for doing it for the first time in years.

Right. I feel the same way. I was one of the main people in my AD's ear about playing Delta State and that was because I knew they were a quality opponent...but at JSU, it ONLY counts if you beat a quality opponent. There is no excuse for Saturday.

Jackson State coach Rick Comegy said he was upset that other SWAC schools apparently gave game tape to Delta State to help the Statesmen study the Tigers.

"You would think the SWAC schools would try to stick together," Comegy said. "We need to get with (interim commissioner) Duer Sharp and try to get some kind of agreement."

I say we put them dayum veggies back on the schedule for next year, and the year after that. Hell, let's make it a classic to get the season started off right.

Whythehell do you keep talking about when AAMU played UNA? We were still in the SIAC and playing them on a yearly basis back then. I guess getting your face bashed in Saturday STILL has you delirious! What happned with those other teams has nothing to do with happened to YOU!!
 
Well, J-State if yall going to TRY to keep playing Delta State, yall better get the Alumni together to get the recruiting money up cause yall are about to get Delta State Scrubbs in MS.
Being from MS, i can hear those high school coaches now;' why are you considering Jackson State? they arent a real football program.. Its Proven Delta Beat them last year and their division II!!!!!

It wasn't that you lost. It was how you lost. I hate to see saltines like Rusty Hampton who never have anything to say about JSU sports come jump his arse in after a lost to DSU and say anything that implies a superiority over HBCUs. I don't give a damn about no North Alabama and AAMU. I am from Indianola, MS and I can't stand the thought that kids from the Delta would be lining up to go to that little 1957 instituion.

I am not sure where those stats came from but we had 150 passing yards and -29 rushing yards.

Stroke, I don't think this will hurt or harm JSU. We recruit two differnent types of athletes. Also, Comegy has been recruiting a lot of out of state talent which really should bode well for Alcorn and Valley rather than Delta State.

Maybe Ya'll SHOULD recruit THE SAME TYPE of Athlete that Delta state does cause they showed superior to your TYPE of Athlete. Yall should turn into TLC and tell Comegy NO YALL DONT WANT NO SCRUBS!!!!!

Nope, I would even venture to say that we have the better defense but they simply had the better gameplan and playcalling. The game was hard to watch on both ends. I don't see how they got 300 yards of offense because they could not move the ball either.

All those short five yard runs on first down and three yard passes and them having the ball for dayum near three quarters.....I can believe it.

They destroyed our offense.
Everything else was ok.

That damm offensive line and QB play was just pathetic.
Delta State didn't do anything spactacular.

They just took advantage of good field position and our defense getting tired after all those 3 and out from the offense all night.:no:
