Sam Houston State vs North Dakota State on ESPN2 (since ESPN isn't promoting it)

There’s no reason for them to jump up...they have National name recognition, they are the flagship school of North Dakota, they aren’t hurting for money, every game they play is televised locally/regionally(a $1.2 million deal with NBC affiliates in North Dakota), and they get to compete for a National Title every season instead of playing in the Potato Bowl or some sh*t(no that isn’t a dig at the Celebration Bowl...strictly referring to lower FBS bowls)

People know who they are, and they’ve already commanded respect across the nation...they really don’t have to move up

If I were ND State, I wouldn't move up. They got a nice little thing going on up there in Fargo. Some of these lower-tiered FBS schools need to do like Idaho and move back down to FCS. Nothing wrong with being a big fish in a small pond.

Well excuse the hell out of me Mr. Righteous Brother, no pork products, no left hand daps, name ain't Toby, no bow down on the dirty ground, OG Bobby Johnson, boom shakalaka, Gabriel Prosser and Nat Turner and Denmark Vesey reincarnated and combined with Huey Newton, etcetera, etcetera ...

Wasn't trying to offend. Just trying to be cordial and get some clarification from a fellow Jag on the subject, for Pete Richardson's sake! Sheesh!

You forgot Ungawa Black Power!!!

Said the same thing about Marshall, Appalachian State and Georgia Southern when they all moved up. Nothing from them programs since moving up from FCS

what lol... Georgia Southern damn near won the Sunbelt their first year and App has won 2 bowl games. Marshall has won a ton of bowl games and has gone undefeated quite a few times. Just because they arent getting the pub that Alabama is doesn't mean they haven't done anything lol. That makes no sense.

And, people seem to forget, as an FCS team unless you get a waiver, which is rare as hell and the only reason Liberty got one is because of how much money they have, you can't just jump to FBS without a conference invite. NDSU doesn't exactly fit into the footprint of most G5 conferences.

They are battling increasing pressure to be where they are. Students aren’t liking paying all those fees to bankroll that. The question in the long run would be is the move up worth it.

Congrats on App St. winning something called the Camellia Bowl twice.

While that is true(App State tied for 1st place in the Sun Belt) in some weird way, no one seems to care as much about App State now that they’ve moved up.

Much like NDSU, App State was a big fish in a small pond(which a good chunk of their fans enjoyed), but now they are the small fish in big pond. They’re successful to an extent, but I don’t think they absolutely needed to move up...same with Georgia Southern(who has taken a major step back) and Coastal Carolina...I won’t knock their hustle tho.

At the end of the day, each school has to do what they feel is best for them.
