SAM COOKE

Sam had the most talented, silky and soulful voice I have ever heard. My favorite also is "A Change is Going to Come".

A Change is Gonna Come and You Send Me...I watched a special/documentary on him, just the other day.

I don't know if I have ever heard Sam Cooke.... I proabaly have, just dont know of any.... Have NEVER listen to that type of oldie music...

If you have never heard some of Sam's greatest hits.............you need to!
Try finding some of JACKIE WILSON's greatest hits also.......his voice was amazing.

If you've watched Malcolm X, Ali, or any movie set around the time of the Civil Rights movement you have at least heard A Change Is Gonna Come. I know at least 2 movies play it right at the time of Malcolm's death.

I'm sure you've heard:

Cupid
A Change Gone Come
What A Wonderful World This Would Be
Chain Gang
Stand By Me

He got many more hits, but those I'm sure you've heard.

Anyway, y'all done made me crank Sam up on my media player. Got that Chaing Gang going rat nah.

They did Bring it on home to me at the beginning of Ali.

I forgot all about the song in bold.

My mom was a huge Sam Cooke fan, and I don't know how many Saturday's I had to hear "boy, I loves me some Sam Cooke" while we were house cleaning. I like all the aforementioned songs, and I also like, Chain Gang, Twistin The Night Away, Cupid, Goodmorning Heartache, Summertime, and God Bless The Child. Sam's A Change Gone Come is tight, but I like Otis Redding's version a little bit better.

Dayum shame the way he got killed though.

NICE

Sam Cooke did not sing stand by me.
That was my bad. Just not paying attention to what I was typing.

Anyway, that "A Change Gone Come" on Malcolm X is by Solo. They paid tribute to Sam Cooke throughout their CD.

BTW, I like their version of A Change Gone Come best of all.
