Saints likely to be featured on Hard Knocks

According to a report from Pro Football Talk, a fellow NFC South team is preparing themselves to be the 2016 participant in the series. That would be Sean Payton, Drew Brees, and the New Orleans Saints:

Per a league source, the Saints are bracing for the possibility of the league tapping them on the shoulder and directing them to be the subject of the annual Hard Knocks series.

The Saints are one of seven teams that can be forced to do it, under criteria the league developed several years ago. Only teams that: (1) have a new coach; (2) have been to the postseason in either of the last two years; or (3) have served as the Hard Knocks subject within the last 10 years can say no. This year, the teams that can’t decline are the Saints, Bills, Bears, Jaguars, Raiders, Chargers, and Rams.

Ive actually never seen this show. I dvr'ed one episode and I don't think I ever watched it. I think the Falcons were featured. Were the falcons featured one year? TBH, I doubt if I would be interested unless the Broncos or Eagles were featured.. lol

I would be shocked if the Saints are featured. Payton is on record of his disinterest. If we decline, and I have no doubt we will, Goodell will not force us because of his mishandling of bounty gate.

The Raiders would be a better choice. Iconic franchise building a young core of talent. The ghost of Al Davis. The Raider Nation. The looming move from Oakland.

Plenty of storylines

I'm surprised that the Rams aren't the favorites. Pro Football back in L.A. for the first time in over 20 years. I'm sure the league would want to highlight that in some form or fashion.
