Ryan Dempster: Grade A Tool

Usually a decision to throw at somebody has been discussed by at least two people. Even if it's just hand signals. It's easy to call the pitcher a tool when others ... perhaps the whole team ... may have been involved.

Dempster is a tool for throwing at (and missing) A-Rod three times in one at bat before hitting him. It would have been cool if he nailed him on the first pitch.

Besides, I wonder if he threw at other cats who were known PED users, too. I doubt it, though. Did he throw at Ortiz in scrimmages?

Do you think that was retaliation for A-Rod ssupposedly snitching on Braun and others?

I don't know. It hasn't been proven.

John Lackey, another Boston hurler, expressed displeasure that A-Rod was allowed to play under appeal. However, that was something collectively bargained by the players.

I think throwing at guys is OK in certain circumstances. But Dempster went about it all wrong. It makes it even more cowardice considering the pitchers don't hit in the AL. So, he threw at A-Rod knowing he wound not face retaliation.

I think he is a hero. Its just baseball and he did something to make that crap worth talking about
They should give him an award

And then the Girardi got tossed because of it. lol

that's because the umpire allowed Dempster to get away with throwing at a guy fourt times without tossing him. Then he issued a warning to both teams, which essentially negated CC's ability to retaliate.

Joe is in a bad spot. He probably doesn't want A-Rod out there due to the distraction. But at the same time, he needs that bat in the lineup. Now, he gotta defend him against rogue pitchers.
