He didn't say anything wrong. Them girls are over 18. If he had talked about some minors, he would have been wrong.

:lmao: Panthro can't be that bad. HELLO TT. I know you are reading this. :swink:

I had to get past my initial anger towards TT and actually look @ what he was posting. He wasn't posting hearsay. He was posting facts! Our RPI, our OOC records, etc. Sh*t went straight over my head initially.

I'm recommending TT for SWAC Commish (and I'm very, very, very serious). :read:

Imus to appear on Al Sharpton's radio show. Boy i'd love to hear that interview. :uhoh: Guy's definitely not hiding.

Radio host apologizes on Sharpton

Imus on race controversy: ?I?m a good person?
Radio host apologizes on Sharpton?s show after racially charged comments

Updated: 1 hour, 2 minutes ago
NEW YORK - Calling himself a good person who said a bad thing, radio host Don Imus said Monday he would check his acid tongue after being lambasted for making racially charged comments about the Rutgers University women?s basketball team.

?Here?s what I?ve learned: that you can?t make fun of everybody, because some people don?t deserve it,? he said on his nationally syndicated radio show Monday morning. ?And because the climate on this program has been what it?s been for 30 years doesn?t mean it?s going to be what it?s been for the next five years or whatever.?

Imus said he was ?embarrassed? by the remarks, in which he referred to the mostly black team as ?nappy-headed hos.? He said he had made the comments in the course of ?trying to be funny,? but he was not trying to excuse them.

?I?m not a bad person. I?m a good person, but I said a bad thing. But these young women deserve to know it was not said with malice,? he said.

He pointed to his involvement with the Imus Ranch, a cattle farm for children with cancer and blood disorders in Ribera, N.M. Ten percent of the children who come to the ranch are black, he added.

?I?m not a white man who doesn?t know any African-Americans,? he said.

TP...isn't that always the case? Someone says something racist then all of a sudden..."I'm not a racist?" :shame: But you said something racist. Isn't that the same as saying...I said something dumb, but I'm not dumb.

Dumb people say dumb sh*t.
Racist people say racist sh*t.
Stupid is as stupid does/says.

For those of you finding no fault in his initial words why is he apologizing? If he was without fault he should stick to his guns right? That's what a real man does right?

He didn't say anything wrong. Them girls are over 18. If he had talked about some minors, he would have been wrong.

So every player on that team is a "Nappy Headed Hoe?". When that player graduates and finds it difficult to get a job in Corporate America because she is labeled as a "Nappy Headed Hoe" because she played basketball for Rutgers in the championship game against Tennessee, that is not a problem?

That man has a right to voice his opinion, he can say that Tennessee players are pretty and Rutgers players are ugly. But when he calls them Nappy Head Hoes, that is slander and he must be dealt with.

Just because they are over 18 does not give him the right to call them HOES, simply because they are not white or light-skinned, which is basically the makeup of the Lady Vols.

It became wrong when he did it in a public arena. Can't knock him if he feels that way. He should have had common sense enough to either 1)think or 2) NOT say that shat on the radio, irrespective of their age.

So we ALL are racists then.:read:

Re: Radio host apologizes on Sharpton

I guess so, in some context.

I have better sense than to sit in class and tell my students they'se about some ignant/ni ggas/wetbacks/crackers/chinks/ etc, even though I might say it in my head.

Nice. If they are wrong for saying, then so are people of color including self.

I liken it to black folx who think this race of people are the only ones privy and have exclusive lol rights to be able to say the "N" word or "ni##a" or even "ni##er" and then when a white person or some other nationality sez it, they're ready to fly off the handle.

Double standard like a mofo and shows stupidity for thinking such.

It's the same when criticizing someone who may be of Jewish descent. Most of the time labeled as anti-Semitic and blamed for possibly causing another holocaust simply because they criticized another human being. The criticism may have had nothing to do with anti-Semitism at all, but they're labeled as that. Is that fair? No.

Only God knows what's in a person's heart and mind.

Have we become so self-conscious in this country to the point when anytime a person says something negative about another race that's remotely close to sounding racist, we MUST get back at him/her with BOTH barrels blazing?
This politically correct racial stuff is getting out of hand. No, it's gotten out of hand.

If anything, the Imus guy needed to apologize to the Rutgers women's basketball team and to no one else.

My thoughts exactly. If these guys have the courage or lack of foresight to say these things, then they should just man up and face the music. Stop all of this apologizing, going to rehab and all of that crap. I would have more respect for them that way. Otherwise, they are just pathetic.

True this!

Some rappers call our women Tricks, Btiches, and Hoes all the time. Until we can stop our own people from from disrespecting ourselves and our women, why should others refrain? Its sad, but i don't see anything wrong with it until we stop doing it to ourselves. So, until we can stop being ni**as, tricks, btiches, and hoes to ourselves its okay for others to use it.

Good point 75.

Yep.

Ironically Black people are upset over a White guy that used a phrase that was created in the Black community. And Black people embrace each other with a word "niqqa" that was created by the White man.
