These are your words

they are......and you can take any HBCU, put them in a game in orangeburg in late November, when its a holiday weekend and cold, and our attendance will be low.

but like I said.....SCSU don't want the game.....neither does A&T, or Bethune...apparently last time this came up, and they voted, more schools didn't want it than did.

now, its back again.....if it passes, then we have a choice to make. if it don't, the conference as a whole agreed the game aint for them.

we'll see

Aren't the playoffs a Saturday after thanksgiving?

I'm done dude.....I'll come back to this discussion after a vote. which wont happen unless Thomas knows he has the votes to win. if he doesn't, he will table the issue....until next year...when all this talk will start over again.

Believe me when I say, I wish y'all the best of luck in preventing it.

jenn SC State is a fish fry away from closing and you are talking about moving conferences? Your best bet is to move back to the CIAA

Dahill don't believe everything you read in the papers or what you heard by word of mouth. If you haven't seen the books with your own eyes how the Hell would you know!

This might help you see what your school's president and other MEAC schools presidents see.

The numbers above says your school's athletic program has accumulated a debit in the amount of ($39,118,248) from 2005 to 2013. That's a heck of a lot of money for any HBCU to waste.

And that ladies and gentlemen, pretty much sums up the mentally and philosophy of the meac conference.

Blue, all this says is that those MEAC folks are so delusional and whitewashed that it isn't funny anymore, especially when they confuse the source of information that was posted as a Black Website. Those numbers came straight from USAToday's Website, which is in the link below.

"If you want to hide something from Black folks, put it in a book".

This jenn person just proves that some folks in the MEAC don't trust anything Black, including themselves unless Mr. Charlie approves of it. In the defense of the entire MEAC Conference, I hope jenn is a very small minority.

At-large Bid

That's been mentioned but they don't wanna see that.

The MEAC got two teams into the playoffs last year. They should have got two this year (BCU). Nothing is stopping their 2nd best team getting an at-large bid.

As it has been mentioned before, some people would rather see their school go broke and participating in a playoff that most people don't care about rather than participate in something that would benefit them a lot more.

ESPN wouldn't be doing this if they didn't see any value in it. The SCG no doubt had a role in this

Hilarious as it might seem, they believe it's the white man conspiracy to keep us from winning it all.

Nah they actually believe that Dwight Mann wants them to win it. They believe that the SWAC doesn't want them to win :emlaugh:

I interviewed Floyd Kerr Director of Athletics at Morgan State University last Saturday 12/20/14 on The Carlos Brown Show. Floyd reported that a HBCU bowl game will take place in 2015 in Atlanta before Christmas between the SWAC and MEAC. MEAC Presidents and AD's have vetted the process and have agreed to this bowl game. Both conferences will receive 1 million dollars. Floyd Kerr stated that an announcement will be coming very soon. This HBCU bowl game will not affect the SWAC/MEAC challenge opening game of the season.

Now just think if they did not take $39,118,248 from other programs from 2005 to 2013 in order to keep their athletic program going, the school might not be in a financial crisis today.

How can educated Black people say anything bad about ghetto Black people who didn't attend college when there are HBCUs or Black institutions of higher learning with the exact same mentality of ghetto Blacks? It goes along the lines of a person who owns a vehicle that is worth more than the house that he or she lives in.

Hell they can keep that isht, or at the very least have it on alternating schools campuses

It's more like showing someone who claims to have graduated from South Carolina State University one of the ways how their university is/was robbing Peter to pay Paul, which is probably the main reason why the school is in a current debt crisis today. And if it wasn't for Student Fees, which is another subsidy considered by the NCAA, you can add another $16,324,041 to the $39,118,248, therefore bringing their total debit accumulation by their athletic program to ($55,442,289). But I noticed that South Carolina State University only collected Student Fees from the years of 2006 to 2009. It seems like they made an unwise decision to stop collecting Student Fees in 2007.

It's so sad that you wouldn't think that it was true, but visiting that other website across the tracks has really shown me how messed up those folks are. It's like they have been conditioned by those other FCS fans that they are inherently better than our SWAC schools just because they participate(not win) in the playoffs each year. To see them join in with those folks and berate and beat down on the SWAC schools and every little thing we accomplish is sickening. I thought, after seeing how fast those folks turned on the MEAC when this game was being discussed, the MEAC schools would see the light. Sad to say, they joined in continuing to bash the SWAC and any fellow MEAC school that would agree to the game. Very sad story.

Don't worry, those MEAC schools without a big endowment will be fighting to stay open. Sad that some folks from SCState can't see that when their school is currently in a debt crisis.
