Their interim is Corey Fuller (FSU and former NFL player), This might be the move Winslow wanted to make all along

Fired Florida A&M head coach Earl Holmes spoke briefly to the Democrat before driving away from the field house after he was informed he was let go by the university.


Florida A&M football coach Earl Holmes slowly walked from the field house to his black SUV in the parking lot, stopping to shake hands and share hugs with players late Tuesday afternoon.

Holmes also spoke briefly to the Democrat before driving away after he was informed he was fired by the university earlier Tuesday.

"As a Hall of Famer – FAMU Hall of Fame and MEAC Hall of Fame – on homecoming weekend… I don't know," Holmes said while shaking his head.

"I'm amazed. Amazed."

"I apologized to the players on behalf of the Orange and Green," Holmes said.

"They deserved that. I apologized to the players. I apologized on behalf of FAMU. I wanted them to see the FAMU I grew up it. This isn't the FAMU I grew up in. I apologize to everybody on behalf of FAMU."

When are these HBCU Administrator idiots going to learn?!?!? YOU LET A HEAD COACH FINISH OUT A SEASON!!! It makes no sense to try and get a spark from a person already on staff.

Another thing...in situations like these, you just don't meet with senior football players. Seniors can be mislead and dumb too (See Charlie Strong). You meet with the WHOLE TEAM.

Now Alcorn, we all know Willie Simmons has been trying to get away. If he leaves, get Chang at JSU.

Wow. Unless he did something illegal or the players were all about to quit on him. I would have waited until the season was over. But to fire the guy, an alum on HC week is pretty cruel. Season is already over anyway based on the record.

Got dammit I fugging agree!!! Colleges are and should be ran as a business....atheletics is DEFINITELY a business something many of these athletes do not understand. If you are not producing in some way, shape, fashion, or form then you are a liability.

What about this whole idea of them being student-athletes?
 
I wouldn't have been able to do it if I were the AD or President. Not an alum/HOF member during Homecoming week. No way.

I don't believe in firing a coach until the end of the season....that's the sole problem I have with this firing as well as Doug's firing.
