RIP to the Hulkster

Terrible person but his spot on the Mount Rushmore of wrestling is undeniable
Oh that SOB was yt trash. And it was his OWN words and how he viewed us as a people which made him disposable trash. He will have a lot more company soon in their lake of eternal fire.

Certainly cannot deny how popular he made the wrrstling culture. He, flair, von erichs, et al yt trash helped promote the wrestling culture.

Sputnik Monroe will always, to me, go down as one of the greatest pro wrestlers because he took a stand for black people even though they tried to put him in jail for it.

Was deem a heel by a large number the Memphis Area fans because he was around black people in public (which they brought him up on a charge for, which then he turned around and hired a black lawyer to defend him in court), refuse to wrestler in an arena because it was segregated and had black people sit in "crows nest", team with a black wrestler when it was not the normal, and was the only white wrestler that I know that induct into any type of black hall of fame run by black people.

My mother always said if you have nothing good to say about somebody don’t say it ...
I agree with that statement, but sometimes people can't be the better person (including myself).

Prayers to the family and friends that loved him, but some of his fans are using his death to try rewrite his past and to gas light black people. When people gas light black people, they should not be surprise when black people say something back. In general some black people are tired of turning the other cheek or being the better person.

I hadnt been able to get on here for some reason in about a week. LOL
BUT I dont see why so many people have an issue with the Hulk. He only spoke his mind. Ok, he was racist BUT almost all of those Old School White Wrestlers were racist. Hell, the whole production was racist. They would have the token black wrestler and that would be it (JYD, Butch Reed, CoCo B Ware, Iceman Parsons, etc...).

Also, we also some racist mofos. We wouldnt cry about it if our child was happy but we all know how many of our family members would side-eye your cousin if he showed up with that white woman. lol

I was never a Hulk fan. I always liked the "Bad Side". lol I was a Ric Flair/Fabulous Freebirds type of guy. 🤣 Terry BAM BAM Gordy was so under-rated! I never liked Sting, Luger, etc.... When Hulk created NWO, I already despised him for all his years of being Mr. Goody Two Shoes that I still didnt like him. 🤣

I can't speak for others, but the problem I have with Hulk Hogan is that he continue all the way until his death to deny his anti-black racism and operate in a way that he felt he was not anti-black (regardless of his various comments and actions over the years).

It is telling when the New Day says they don't want nothing to do with you, even though they understand they are viewed as minstrel show by some black people and black wrestlers (which Xavier Woods have talked about).

Pro Wrestling started out as almost exclusive white form of entertainment in the USA, so of course wrestling would go through the phases of having black tokens for various reasons. JYD was the main draw in Mid-South, Iceman Parsons stud up to Crocketts in Mid Atlantic in front of all of the wrestlers during a meeting when they tried to down play the popularity of him and another black wrestler, and Coco helped continue the pattern of drawing majority black crowds in the Memphis territory periodically (CWA\USWA).

MVP put it best: Imagine growing up being invested in a character\persona and finding out the person behind that character\persona hates you and all those like you.
