In all seriousness, an underground aquifer is an underground river that's able to flow through some rock or sand layer. The water enters some point were it can easily infiltrate the top soil or percolate into the ground. The area were the water enters the ground is called the re-charge point or re-charge zone. The water spreads out wherever it can easily flow in the ground, therefore creating a underground river or stream, which is commonly known as ground water.

There are basically two types of aquifers: confined aquifer and unconfined aquifer. A confined aquifer flows between two impermeable soil layers or impervious strata, whereas an unconfined aquifer flows in a soil layer that's not trap below another soil layer that is impermeable. Typically, a confined aquifer will be under pressure due to it being squeezed by the two impermeable soil layers, therefore creating artesian wells if there's enough pressure to allow the water to flow to the surface through some cavity in the ground.

Not only did those prehistoric sea creatures found a way to come out of their dark cave in the ground, but they came out demanding the State of Mississippi build them a 50k domed stadium worth $200 million. :emlaugh: Now I see where Hollywood got the idea for the movie "Piranha". The last time I saw Robinson Stadium in person was in 1999. It kind of reminds me of Alcorn's Spinks Stadium, being that you have to walk down in it.

Yes it can, but from what I can understand, Robinson Stadium had these problems since the day it opened back in 1983. After 30 plus years, the statute of limitation for a poorly designed and constructed stadium might have expired, but it seems like Robinson Stadium should have been repaired by the designer and the construction contractor, which is similar to how the repair works are being made for the $60 million dollar Allen ISD Stadium.
Also, from what I've been told, back in the 80's and before then, a lot of decisions made at Grambling State University were made by a big stick up side the heads of those that didn't conform to the right agenda, which probably explains how the hydraulic head or the piezometric head in the Geotechnical Report got overlooked when Robinson Stadium was being designed. Common sense would tell you if a person digs a hole into the ground and the hole stays wet at a certain elevation, then that would be the ground water elevation at that elevation.

I don't know. Maybe 1 day JSU will finally get the historic football recognition they so desperately crave instead of always looking up and seeing so much more Grambling media even on bad days.

Back in the early 80's, I'm sure the person that tried to explain the problems with building Robinson Stadium at its current location and elevation had taken a few lumps on the head before they conceded to the right agenda. :lol: :emlaugh: And from what I understand, Doug wanted to continue the same legacy that was started way back in the days, which is the stick up side the head legacy.

From what I understand, they made all the major decisions at GSU. The other presidents were just there to keep Prez Jones seat warm. :emlaugh:
