It's not surprising at all. They had a win over Georgia Tech and 2 wins against Georgia during the season, and after starting 14-20, they finished the season winning 23 of their last 24 games to get to 37-21.

A case can be made for Kennesaw State more so than Florida......Florida was a HUGE upset.....IMHO (I was kind of upset by the Florida loss...the last time I saw them play, they started 3 brothers).

But Kenn State is a 3 seed. And Bama is a good "baseball mid-major". And CofC wasn't a surprise....not expected, but no way near a shocker. When the pairings were announced, the folks on ESPN said CofC talked about how tough the Coogs were.

8. Toughest regional: Oklahoma State

This could be the most hard-fought regional of the bunch, mostly because the Cowboys and their Nos. 2 and 3 seeds, Nebraska and Cal State Fullerton, respectively, are very even teams -- nearly interchangeable. The possible exception is the Titans, who still have a formidable pitching staff that is one of the best in the nation when it is dialed in, making them extremely dangerous. But give the edge on offense to the Pokes.

Runner up: Florida
The youthful Gators drew the toughest 4-seed in College of Charleston and also have red-hot Long Beach State and potentially dangerous North Carolina in their bracket. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/s...ege-baseball-ten-things-ncaa-baseball-bracket

I'm watching the FL State/Bama game and they are STILL talking about Jackson State.... a #4 seed in the conference tourney whose bus burned down....whose team had a losing conference record....who had the LOWEST RPI in the playoffs....and STILL shut down a team that averages nearly 8 runs a game!!!!

Bama is pummeling #1 seed Florida State right now...........

Not really. College Charleston was not a typical 4 seed either. Not many 4 seeds sport a 41-17 record and 52 RPI. Their #1 pitcher did his job.

C of C keeps a brother in the starting lineup. They had 2 in the outfield last nite.

Cookman up 6-0 going to the bottom of 7th

Bama goes into the bottom of 9th up 6-0 and now Florida State has the tying run at bat with the bases loaded. :emlaugh:

Update, winning run at bat bases loaded 6-3 Bama (0 out)

Cajuns wins, will face the loser of Jackson St/Mississippi State game tomorrow........

On Deck in Lafayette, LA..........Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. Jackson State Tigers

1-1 bottom of the 4. JSU just walked on in with full bases. bases are still full. MSU is forced to do a pitcher change. the current MSU pitcher is a 5yr senior. MSU has called up their relieve pitch J. Holder. JSU could take the lead soon.

not this time. 3 outs, JSU back on defense.
