TSU almost beat them in the regular season and SU was tied with them in the 7th until the bull pen imploded.

Yes, I listened to that S.U. game. Also, I made a mental note that they (ULL) won the last two games of the Sunbelt Tourney by only 1 run. I had a feeling that this was going to be extremely interesting. JSU played great baseball tonight. And, their starting southpaw pitched a Gem. This was a well played ball game at a very high level......Good Stuff

TSU has nothing but soft throwing guys, and their pitching gave UL fits the weekend they played. JSU pitched nothing but soft throwing guys vs UL. Smart move by Omar.

Ms State didn't pitch their ace. Only went through 2 pitchers yesterday. Going to be tough. Maybe, the coach will save his ace for Sunday being that it is JSU. Good luck Tigers!

Bullshit.

ULaLa has been perpetrating all year. They are fraudulent.

Don't agree with that at all. You don't win 50 plus games being fraudulent. That team has some of the best hitters in the nation.
JSU played an excellent game defensive wise. ULL played well defensively as well. JSU just shut them down when they needed too.
This has to be the shocker of the tournament where the number one seed goes down at home. It'll be tough for ULL to beat JSU or even MSU twice. They're behind the 8 ball already.

That's what LSU fans were saying. They saved their best pitcher thinking they would go up against State but now they are forced to throw him today. State has maybe 1 or 2 good pitchers left. Those are the mid week guys though and not the SEC pitchers. JSU may catch em slipping

Wow. Don't listen to whoever is saying that.

State played for the national championship last year primarily because of the strength and depth of their bullpen.

It's true that they'll save Ross Mitchell, Jacob Lindgren and Jonathan Holder for a possible match up with ULL. Mitchell is one of the best starting pitchers in the country. Lindgren is arguably the best middle reliever in the country and Holder is arguably the best closer in the country.

However, State has seven or eight guys other than them that are as good or better than Desmond Russell. The mid-week guys and even the true freshmen that sit on the bench and rarely get to pitch are more talented than anybody JSU has. If MSU loses to JSU, it won't be because they ran out of arms. They have much more than 1 or 2 good pitchers left.

And how do you know this? The way you're talking, MSU should be undefeated and JSU shouldn't even show up.
JSU usually plays MSU tough.

I've watched both teams play.

MSU baseball stats

Their true freshmen and mid-week guys have better stuff than Russell. They just do, whether you believe it or not.

:noidea:

I've watched both teams play too but I'm not going to say every pitcher MSU has is better than JSU's best pitcher.
How do you explain JSU's pitchers shutting out perhaps the top offense in the nation on their home field? Do you think MSU's pitchers could pull that off? I highly doubt it.

If JSU just get their rest today, forget about yesterday, play like they don't have anything to lose and relaxed, this can be a very interesting ball game. State will be tough but if the truth be told, this is the Regionals.........All 64 teams are tough (Ask Florida Gators, Alabama Tide, Louisiana Cajuns as exhibit 1) :emlaugh:

Ask FLA State. They gave up 7 doubles to GA Southern

Out of those 3 upsets, the only surprising one was ULL losing to Jackson State. And it was surprising because JSU won, it was how they won. Never thought they would have a 1-0 lead, and manage to close out the game. If our teams were able to close out games the way JSU did, the SWAC would have a lot more big wins in OOC and post-season play.

So you called Kennesaw State (GA) beating Alabama? Right! :emlaugh: C of Charleston over #2 National Seed Florida? Right!  :emlaugh:

It's not surprising at all. They had a win over Georgia Tech and 2 wins against Georgia during the season, and after starting 14-20, they finished the season winning 23 of their last 24 games to get to 37-21.

But Kenn State is a 3 seed. And Bama is a good "baseball mid-major". And CofC wasn't a surprise....not expected, but no way near a shocker. When the pairings were announced, the folks on ESPN said CofC talked about how tough the Coogs were.

8. Toughest regional: Oklahoma State

This could be the most hard-fought regional of the bunch, mostly because the Cowboys and their Nos. 2 and 3 seeds, Nebraska and Cal State Fullerton, respectively, are very even teams -- nearly interchangeable. The possible exception is the Titans, who still have a formidable pitching staff that is one of the best in the nation when it is dialed in, making them extremely dangerous. But give the edge on offense to the Pokes.

Runner up: Florida
The youthful Gators drew the toughest 4-seed in College of Charleston and also have red-hot Long Beach State and potentially dangerous North Carolina in their bracket. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/s...ege-baseball-ten-things-ncaa-baseball-bracket

I'm watching the FL State/Bama game and they are STILL talking about Jackson State.... a #4 seed in the conference tourney whose bus burned down....whose team had a losing conference record....who had the LOWEST RPI in the playoffs....and STILL shut down a team that averages nearly 8 runs a game!!!!
