......if any of you have ever been to a high school football game in New Orleans, chances are the game was at Tad Gormerly stadium. With virtually no New Olreans school having a stadium to play in on it's campus, yet alone enough of a grassy area to practice on, this stadium has been a staple in the city for the longest of times, and not only has it served as THE high school stadium of the city, but it was also the host to the 96 Track & Field Olympic Trials, as well as several SWAC outdoor T&F events when the spring games were in New Orleans in the late 90's. The HBCU all star football game was also held there as well last year.
As was most things in New Orleans it was flooded out after Katrina hit, and actually looked like a lake (along with other things), and with the help of Reggie Bush, and Adidas returning New Orleans kids will continue to have a great place to play high school football in.
Since being in New Orleans, Bush has also, along with Adidas donated $50k to a special needs school that was on the verge of closing, so don't be surprised if Offensive Rookie Of The Year is not the only award he may win this year, because it looks like he's trying to lock down that Humanitarian Award.
