She actually exited the field in the middle of the routine. I know that was a pride killer, but I hope she recovers. In 1983, I remember Southern's field was so muddy that the Drum Major slipped on his behind in his high kick, but it went unnoticed because he was able to bounce right back up to a standing position. Also, the same night, one of Southern's Dancing Doll twisted her ankle when she did a spin move because her shoe had gotten stuck in the mud. I believe she finished the routine on one leg. Years later, Southern eventually spent $600,000 to improve its field conditions after their star receiver (Michael Hayes) had a season ending injury. Does Alcorn have uneven spots on their field?
 
She played it like a champ.....fell and went right into the routine when they went on the gorund and then she slip right off the field when she knew she couldn't go anymore. If you didn't have the advantage of re-play, you would have really missed it all.
 
It looked like she tried to spin and her foot might have gotten stuck on the ground.

When I first saw it, I laughed. But, when I watched it again, I could tell it looked like she was really hurt and she couldn't continue, even though she tried. She gets props and respect from me for that.
 
I don't care what anyone says, she gets props from me for hanging in there and giving it her all......:tup:

I hope that she will be ok and will get a chance to continue performing for the remainder of the year.

She definitely gets props from me, too. She kept going until she couldn't anymore. That's how it should be done.
 



she should be just fine.
i saw them walking her back to the stands after halftime. they iced her and wrapped it up. she just chilled out for the rest of the game.
the injury didnt look too MAJOR.
maybe some minor swelling thats about it: she MIGHT be able to perform this wknd. if not then she will be up and dancing again for the next game.

Everybody makes jokes about how SU folks are yella, and the paper bag test, etc. That when Doc was band director he didn't have dark girls on the squad. Whether it's true or not...who cares.
