There is no double standard. In the 40s and 50s when professional sports were segregated, baseball players brawled while football and basketball players rarely fought. The same is true today. The customs didn't change when football and basketball became predominately Black.

Just because brawls and fighting have been "traditional" in baseball and hockey doesn't justify it one bit. That's just a poor excuse to justify one group being given a slap on the wrist, while the other group gets penalized far worse for lesser offenses.
Different customs for different games? The answer is why? Why is fighting overlooked in those sports but horribly frowned upon in basketball?

Let ME say this again, all I was saying is YOU took this conversation in a direction no-one had taken it. Almost everyone was commenting on Sir Gram using such absolute terms to make his point. Even he wasn't concerned with WHITES, he put EVERYTHING on being BLACK.

No, all blacks don't care the hood with them. It's up until recently that pro blacks start trying to have some type of street cred.

I would say it started with AI and continue on and on. But, you have to remember that lack of a decent college life will allow you to think irrational. Look at the sport figures before AI, TO, and other hip hop stars.

They came into sports as businessman. Rarely would here of a "star" black player getting into trouble. If they did it would be in the news one or two days. Why? Teams had spin control in place. Plus, whites respected us more back then. Now adays, when a star get a DWI (Steve Mcnair) they run it for weeks at a time. Look at Ben for steelers. This fool was driving the fastest street legal bike in the world without a helmet and he got instead sympathy.

There is a unwritten rule in professional sports now....the *****s will act a fool and you will get free advertisment.

Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade. It is what it is. I can't say whose trapped in a world of fear, cynicism and paranoid bravado. All I can do is speak for myself. I'm trapped in a world of REALITY simply because I'm a realist.

Right there, you indirectly admitted that some of the white media are not just and honest in their dealings with people that don't look like them or act like them because if they were, they would eventually be forced to look deep within themselves and admit that they have serious faults and serious issues just like any other group.
