Ray Rice likely to keep $25 million

Football's Ray Rice will probably get to keep about $25 million that he's been paid, even after he was cut by the Baltimore Ravens in the wake of domestic abuse revelations.

Video surfaced Monday of Rice punching his then-fiancee, now wife, in an Atlantic City elevator.

Prior to the video's release, Rice had been caught on a security camera dragging his fiancee out of the elevator. That got him suspended for two games without pay.

The penalty, which was widely criticized as too lenient, cost him about $530,000.

Rice signed a 5-year, $35 million deal in 2012, $15 million of which was a signing bonus.

He got another $7 million bonus in 2013, and also collected $3 million in salary over the first two years of the contract.

Almost none of that $25 million can be clawed back by the Ravens or the NFL, according to Mike Ginnitti, managing editor of Spotrac, a Web site that tracks professional sports contracts.

Clearly you don't understand how a union works. If a union ever cease to come to the defense of one of it's members, it lose all credibility, and eventually it's power.

Unity is what makes a union feared.

My opinion, yes. The fact that she loves her husband and chooses to stay with him does not change the fact that him beating her is wrong. Beating another human being is wrong period. And just because another person lets you beat them does not mean you have to do so. At one point in life, we ALL need to start doing what's right rather than what's easy.

Bane, you and I both know that's different. I'm so embarrassed. I can only guess that when it comes to the bedroom, some folks do like it a little rough but no one goes in there expecting to get knocked out either........well, at least not knocked out like that..........:blush::blush::blush:

I think the thing is... if she's forgiven him, who are we to say she is wrong for doing it?

I never said her forgiving is/was wrong. He's her husband; she should forgive him. What I said was the fact tha she loves her husband and chooses to stay with him DOES NOT change the fact him beating her is wrong; I went on to say that beating another human being is wrong period. I also said that just because another person allows you to beat them does not mean you have to do so; that doesn't make it right.

I said that in response to what Bane posted; his post implied (to me) that as long as Rice's wife is/was okay with being beaten, it doesn't make it wrong.

Most victims of abuse believe they are responsible for getting beaten.

That belief is beaten into them and they dont leave unless they are in a pine box.
