Try to bet em, no one responds yet they talk all this isht and scared to back their team up. Nunya where were you when I placed my bet on the sports board? The same place Was Ready was, too afraid to bet, yet always ready to play the race card. And HE out of all people had the nerve to say somethin about the USM people crying about race. All I can say is I hope ya'll at least have your own mind in real life outside of the board.:(

I think we are deep enough in the center of our DLine to handle Nix for 4 quarters. If you guys are concentrating on getting Nix involved, thats a good thing for us.

I don't recall making any "black jokes" or racist comments on this board. I have made some comments about how USM is gonna whoop a little JSU arse and I stand by those comments. From what I understand, there's been alot of USM folks over here making inappropriate comments. They make them on the USM boards (Eagle Post and Eagle Talk...which is now password free) too. Y'all's Jay-Dog (who is a really cool guy) has done a pretty good job of handling them though. YOU have some real issues with this racism stuff. I don't know what you've been exposed to at home or at school but it seems that almost every post you've made over on Eagle Post turns into a tirade about racism which in turn gets all of the bubbas fired up and the next thing you know you have a mess on your hands. Seems like you've come close to getting banned from that particular message board. I suggest you go over to one of the Yahoo clubs to discuss racism and stick with posting trash talk about USM athletics on the USM message boards. If anyone make any racial slurs in response to some harmless trash talk it will get deleted or edited as quickly as possible.


The RB you're thinking about is probably Timmy Blackwell. He wasn't a bad running back but didn't fit into the one back offensive system very well. He wasn't very big but he was fast. He should have been converted to a receiver and our coaches may have even wanted to do that. Anyway, he quit coming to practice and eventually the coaches quit caring if he showed up or not...they replaced him with James Walley who is a bigger running back like Nix.

You are right, I do have a problem with race. Again, look above for the explanation.

I like the fact that the small quick back is gone. They present more of a challenge that big bruisers. We can easily handle slow footed backs like Nix.

Fuhgedaboudit....both of my brothers live in Georgia. One goes to Georgia Southern and the other just graduated from UGA. I don't think they know about this board (LOL)....

Big backs like Nix have a tendancy to wear defenses down. He is also a good receiver and blocker. Nix is actually a converted line backer. I've seen him, over a period time during a game, completely exhaust defenses at Alabama, East Carolina, Louisville, etc. He's never struck me as a quick, break away back either but I have seen him get lose and take off down the field. He ain't slow. He's just not a Speedy Gonzolez (spelling) type runner like Woods was.

Im sorry, I just think Nix is over-rated. He wasnt that impressive to me 2 years ago. He may have improved, but it looked like he was looking for a place to fall. Your offense could have been better if you werent running it thru him.

(If Gator was with them at first I can't remember) But, nevertheless, I know that he has been cool lately because I've been monitoring his posts. Anyway we can let him slide if you don't have a problem with him as of now. Otherwise, do what you do....

What the yella and black team doesn't realize is Nix will not make it through Deon Deboise and James McGowan.

Man! I sound like you guys going on and on and on and on and on about Kent...like Nix is the only guy on the team. I should point out that Nix isn't the only running back we have. I'm sure you'll be seeing James Walley and Anthony Harris as well....especially after Nix racks up 150 yards or more!!

I will be disappointed if that's ALL he gets! In all honesty (and this isn't very "smackadelic" of me bay-bee) who knows what's gonna happen with Nix?! He says he feels good and is in the best shape of his life but he's been out of the game for almost two years. I know he's got alot of heart and is chomping at the bit to get back out on the field. I hope the coaches watch him closely in this first game and see what he does as well as monitor his health. I think we'll see Walley and Harris in this game alot.
 
All this Nix talk remends me of the Hype A&T had over That hicks boy last year. If memory serves, he didnt get 50 yards, and we put him out for the season.

Look USM, You are not playing UAB or Houston.

First, check your stats. UAB and Memphis are two of the best defenses in the country. Very few teams can score a whole lot on them. Actually your post was the bull****

Wrong again there cuz, Nix had a damn kidney disease and two ankles torn up. You try playing like that. Facts don't lie, if the guy runs a 4.5 he sure isn't slow.

If you think our offense will have trouble against you think again. How many points did Tennessee State rack up? Man, Murrah High School could score 40 on you guys.

Woods graduated too.

Wow...so your saying that your defense is better than UAB's (top 10 in the country). Who can forget your impressive defense's performance against TSU? That wasn't a very smart thing to say.
