Lawton, Oklahoma --A year ago not one of the six players selected by the Continental Basketball Association's Lawton/Fort Sill Cavalry ever made it to Lawton, let alone played in a game. On Tuesday night, September 23, 2008, not only was the Cavalry first-round choice in Lawton, but he's thrilled to be a part of the team.
"I'm just excited and I'm humbled and I can't wait to get here and get started," said Aaron Smith, formerly of Prairie View A&M University. "I'm just excited to work hard. I play hard and have fun on the basketball court."
The Cavalry made the 6' 3", 180 pound shooting guard their first pick in the 23rd CBA Draft, and the fourth pick overall.
The team also selected former Sooner Longar Longar in the second round, and former Oklahoma State defensive standout Marcus Dove in the third round.
