PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas- PVAMU Assistant Baseball Coach Waskyla Cullivan has been named interim head baseball coach following the resignation of former head coach Michael Robertson. The change is effective June 23, 2008.

Robertson concludes his career as the Panthers head coach with a 163-170 overall record. During his tenure, he led Prairie View A&M to their first Southwestern Athletic Conference championship in school history and back-to-back SWAC titles (2006, 2007). Overall, Prairie View A&M made four consecutive appearances in the SWAC?s title game, finishing as the conference?s runner-up in 2005 and 2008.

?Prairie View A&M University and the Athletics department is extremely thankful for the contributions Michael Robertson has made to our program over the past six seasons,? said Interim Athletics Director Fred Washington. ?Our baseball program has enjoyed a lot of success under his direction and we?re excited about the opportunity to build upon those successes with Coach Cullivan at the helm of our program this year.?

Didn't dude leave PV to play for SU his senior season. That would mean SU has 3 former players as baseball coaches in the 10 team league.

Why did Robertson resign?

Isn't this the only thing that matters...

"A native of Ville Platte, La., Cullivan is a 2000 graduate of Prairie View A&M University with a bachelor?s degree in Health and Human Performance."

Dude I just asked a simple question. I though so :) . How can he recruit against SU when he left Pv himself to go to SU :swink:  .

went to PV, played a year and transferred to SU, never played at SU due to a minor snafu and finished back at PV but never played

but he has some serious ties to SU....

Former Prairie View coach accepts TSU baseball job

Ronnie Turner
For the Chronicle

Michael Robertson, who resigned Monday as Prairie View A&M baseball coach after six seasons, said that he has accepted an offer for the same position at Texas Southern.

Robertson said that athletic director Charles McClelland, who served as Prairie View?s athletic director from 2001-08, offered him the job Wednesday. A person familiar with the situation said that TSU coach Candy Robinson, who just completed his 19th season, would be promoted to director of baseball operations.

McClelland could not be reached for comment Monday night.

Robertson, who went 163-170 with the Panthers and led them to back-to-back Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament championships in 2006-07, said it was tough to leave Prairie View for TSU, but he considers it a move up.

?When I look back at this whole ordeal, I always look at it, knowing in the back of my mind that I probably could have retired at Prairie View A&M University because obviously it was a good marriage with the university and my family,? said Robertson, whose contract ran through 2010. ?I really enjoyed my stay there, but I could say that I was able to leave that program in a much better shape than it was when I took over. I felt good about leaving there with my head held high.?

C-leb.........yall aint right bruh. LOL. Poor P is probably like damn you sTu'ers. Oh well is Cynthia Cooper next? Yall gone make her an offer?

Frazier is safe from yall........but I think he will end up back on the East Coast somewhere........

I guess congrats is order........I might need to call my frat brother and see if his son is going to want to transfer to TxSU or SU now that Mike is gone.

We've known about this departure for a while. Along w/ the eqpt guy. lol :retard: This isn't news.

I won't even entertain sTu @ this point. When you all become an accredited university and also have zero ncaa athletic infractions, I'll talk. Real talk. lol Just try :read: to keep your doors open or we'll be replacing you guys, like we did Bishop, Paul Quinn, Wiley, blah blah blah on Labor Day weekend. :swink:

Tell your "frat brother" lol that if his son is dedicated to academic growth as well as athletic growth, sTu isn't the school to attend. :) However, if his priority is to just "play ball," he should txfer out immediately! We don't do :retard: @ PV, dude. lol :read:

they changed the transfer rule....you got to sit out a year so it's a risky venture now...

Rob's choices for lunch will improve...he gives up the baked potatoes at countyline to king specials at frenchy's

Rob is thinking a new facility will be waiting along w/ that tripled salary lol. :) We shall see. And we'd better not SEE it via academic state monies. :read:

Charlie Mac is trying to improve the program by bringing in people who do not need his special course on how to properly run an athletic department...

When is Cynthia Cooper coming down to Houston? Andrew Roberts and Candice Ross making the trek as well?

Heck, may as well take the Faculty Athletic Rep...Charlie Mac doesn't want an overflowing classroom for his course. Needs people who don't have tunnel vision...

My My that loseing feeling must be coming back, you know that feeling that you get in the bottom of you stomach when you know you have done something wrong and get caught or even when the cops are riding behind you for miles and then speed around you. Its okay :smh: no need for the trash talk. Texas Southern not accredited  so sorry your confused. But when you lose top notch coaches as you would put it, you start to sound like a 6 month old baby crying for a bottle. Hey Cooper-Dykes your office is waiting :pimp:.

Hey Nupe, are you good with photoshop? We need a tombstone that reads: "Here lies what's left of PVAMU" and have it crumbled and broken all into pieces.

If Coach Frzr doesn't run the score up on you guys, it'll be a travesty. :emlaugh:

We need to send a message that's concise, very loud, and very clear. I'll be :emlaugh: my ass off if these "new hires" lol don't pan out. :emlaugh: When, not if, we continually beat you guys w/ our former coaches @ the helm, I wonder what you all will be thinking then? lol It'll be that exact same feeling that you'll feel Labor Day w/e when the clock strikes 00:00 4th quarter: PV is just that damned good.

No 18 yr old in that semi-right mind would want to attend sTu in the concrete "jungle" when the academic resort lol is down 290. :retard: Y'all are some "special" people. :emlaugh: Truly. :bawling:

Rob is frat so he'll do fine...

but objectively, what more can he accomplish at PV? Sometimes people prefer to rebuild in a new environment....
