I can tell Texas Southern has been down for years, if you seriously think someone is jealous of you for finally winning. That happens every 60 years. That's like a champion that has 90 wins losing 2 fights but someone is jealous?

Birds of a feather flock together. Texas Southern finally came from the grave and won a damn SCG and Alcorn has nadda. Two Hy-Top schools having each other backs, so cute. DCG you got it all wrong. We definitely don't respect Texas Southern. I actually thought Texas Southern was on a rise but cheating plus losing 15 schollies i would kick my own azz to respect that. Alcorn and Texas Southern would have to get wins 10 years in a row each for my respect and you know that is very far fetched.:emlaugh: Back to Topic, DCG don't be running from Prairie View, they have been thrashing yall azz in this thread. Get back to topic.

I applaud PV for going to The Challenge. Frankly, the LDC on a scale of 1-10 is a strong 4. This is attributable to the consistent poor product that TX So. has put on the field over the years coupled with PV unfortunate loss of scholarships for several years. As we all know PV has rebounded and headed in the right direction. Just when it looked like TX So. would "come up" and help put the rivalry/classic where it is supposed to be, here comes "Cole Gate." TX So. football kind of remind me of the sitcom Good Times (should have been called Bad Times). Just when everything looks like it will get better, set back is eminent. It is disgraceful that this classic has to be played at Delmar. Further, as large as TX. So. is, they have never had the leadership or inclination in at the very least a half of century to own a decent Football Stadium (another Good Times mindset/move.........Cabrini Green Send Help!). If small schools like Ms. Valley and UAPB can have nice on campus football facilities, it tells one much about TX So. character.
 
Texas Southern has never had standards. To be in Houston, Tx they are the most underachieved school in the world and JROCK who lied to you? Dynamo is Texas Southern's stadium.:dizzy: That's what the 3rd ward people really think. FYI, if you don't get all the money, you're a damn tenant, it's not your stadium. Their low standards allow them to think that it's their stadium because they aren't used to anything.

You should be charged with blasphemy for typing the words Texas with Southern. TX. So. is who they are and there isn't an experienced soul that doesn't know what that "So." stands for in this forum. :lol: :emlaugh:
 
Texas has a reputation for doing things big. It is a shame that TX. So. in football have been doing the wrong things big for so many years. The conference should ban them from post season play this year and put them on probation for the next year. Really, the probation should be longer considering how they have adversely impacted the SWAC's power rating for so many decades. I'm like most black folks however and have a forgiving heart. Intellectually though I know their levy should be much more harsh!

C'mon DCG, the hot sun is cool with us. You forget that sTu are the city folks and us PV folks are the Kountry folk, we are used to no A/C. tv, uncovered stadiums and unpaved stadium parking, the caveman conditions will be right up our alley :lol:
 
Prior to PV's loss of scholarships, TSU dominated the series. PV's loss scholarships was in indeed devastating, however 6 years under Alois Blackwell was worst than no scholarship at all.


The Labor Day Classic is really not a classic game; it is a home and home played in a neutral venue.

The Space City Classic, The Southern game traditionall outdrew the game with PV.

Recently; Texas State, Rutgers, UConn, UH, ULM , etc. provided larger financial incentives.

They're fickle but black folks will come out to that game as it has been done before.....the venue has been the biggest flaw in the event since 1996 as the Dome/Reliant just wasn't cut out for the game once the allure wore off and prices never got lower

If it drew 35K in Rice back in 1995 with bad PV teams but can't get near that now obviously there's a flaw somewhere. I thought if it was at Rice this year we would've done well

A full Delmar isn't successful in my book before because your talking about 12K at tops :rolleyes:
