2. Tell Dr. Pannell that he needs not to spend any more time on Edwards, tell him his time should have been spent thinking of an ORIGINAL dance routine, instead of the one you all stole from Alabama State Univ this same year.

Did Alabama State's band directors do a dance routine to "Happy People" this year?

Quietstorm said:
Well my point is, why not do something original and not the same exact song and routine as Alabama State in the same YEAR !
correct me if i'm wrong, but happy people and step in the name of love are two different songs. yall act like this is the first time the directors danced with the banned it started in the mid to late 90's with the song heatwave, yall are so late. get the facts first.

Since we are passing mesages to the band directors, please let Edwards know, that as a African American, female, non-ghetto relating, professional, I did take issue with some of the IMO, degrading behavior of the PV band on Saturday night. And please know that I do plan to address some of these issues with the President of your institution, as a poor representation of what African American higher education should represent:

1. The high school band was performing, and your band came out, not on a rim tap, out of RESPECT for the high school band, but in full cadance. :splat: :splat: :splat:
2. You played loudly, as this high school band tried to finish their pre-game show. The announcer asked the audience to stand for prayer. ...And the band played on. The announcer then asked the band to stop playing, as the prayer was being offered. You stopped playing and started WALKING :smh: :smh: :smh: , during the entire prayer.
3. Next comes the Star-Spangled Banner, and you continued to walk, and I thought,
4. I'm not going there with the t-shirt, because it's been hashed and rehashed on the board. It's an opinion thing, and as a F,A-A,P, it was "Unacceptable".

Okay, now here it comes . . . . . . . Carry on with your justifications . . . .

1. Once the band realized that a high school band was on the field they stopped playing until the band exited the field. Please tell me when you start a cadence at the bus, how in the devil do you know there is a high school band playing inside the stadium on the field.
2. The officers who were standing on the field that were not praying was busy ushering the band into the stands during the prayer.
3. The band was still being ushered to their seats to clear the field
WHY HATE ? C O N G R A T U L A T E !!!
GSU only wish they would have thought of the White Tee's 1st. Again, GSU is the same band who danced in the State Fair Classic years back with the middle finger sticking up !!! So don't go there with the Ghetto remarks !!!!! You can justify a T-shirt much better than you can justify a F _ _ _ You gesture at halftime in front of 50k plus !

BTW, I am pretty sure EDWARDS could give a hoot about Pannell !!!

I'm not going to sit here and try to justify any actions. Did the band not stop for the prayer and National Anthem? There were many people still walking around the stadium also. We had to get into the stadium as Grambling's band was not far behind us, and they also had to march in. As for the high school band, well......I have a comment on that, but will keep it to myself.

I'll just say that sometimes, everything isn't as it seems. You only know what you SEE. And sometimes, you just can't see EVERYTHING.

And I agree....this thread has gotten very _ _ _!!!!!

The word 'you' was used in a general sense, not in a personal sense...And it's STILL sad that that's all you can find to talk about in the dance.

1. (a)Once the band realized that a high school band was on the field they stopped playing until the band exited the field. (b)Please tell me when you start a cadence at the bus, how in the devil do you know there is a high school band playing inside the stadium on the field.
(a). Not True
(b). It's called LEADERSHIP. That should be the roll of someone on the band staff -- go ahead of the band and make sure everything is on schedule. And, by the way, wasn't the band "HOLDING" in the tunnel, waiting for someone to clear them to come out? It's my understanding that's where Edwards was cursing the high school band director and complaining that PV was supposed to play the Star-Spangled Banner. Get your facts straight before commenting, because you can believe that I don't speak unless I do have FACTS, and not someone's OPINION.
2. The officers who were standing on the field that were not praying was busy ushering the band into the stands during the prayer.

For What?

As I originally stated, continue to try to justify inappropriate behavior.

BTW, I am pretty sure EDWARDS could give a hoot about Pannell !!!

Once again, where is that coming from. This is MY opinion, and has nothing to do with Dr. Pannell.

Once again, brother, you only know what you saw, which, in most cases (including this one) is not the whole story. I reference your comments that I put in bold to show that you do not know quite what you think you know. Let's just leave it at that man....OK??

You see, I could really go there and talk about that "TIP", but since I previously declared myself as an African American, female, non-ghetto relating, professional, I won't.

Why would EDWARDS curse out the High School Band Director over the Star Spangled Banner when no band played it that night ? Get your lies errrr Hata lines 2gether so that they can at least make sense. I understand all of the hate, I would probably hate too, if I got SPANKED !!! :) :spin: :rolly:

Tx_Finest.....consider this your warning about the appropriateness of your post in this forum. You should know better. And remember that you are a reflection of PV, and you never know WHO is reading your comments....

This is your WARNING!!!!

:read: :read: :read: :read: :read:
Read it again. That is not what I said. :smash: :smash: :smash:

:smh: Like I said, Grambling should just take the 'L' and work to give a better performance next time. First it was the white tees now its the pregame prayer/ star spangled banner...you people are seriously reaching.

There is more mudslingin in here than on the presidential campaign trail.

Grazioso leave it alone because I don't think you realize who you are arguing with. It seems as if you were in the stands watching.....you wouldn't know the inside story.

Second...no one here cares if you are a pro. That makes you nothing special here. If you didn't like something that went on at the game that is fine....the appropriate people have already seen it....I can assure you of that. Now do be fair about it and contact Grambling on their middle finger routine if you want to be the band police and report inappropriate behaviour.
