I told yall if the SWAC didnt step in, our AD wasn't gonna do anything. At least you can point to AAMU making the SCSU game happen. Ours sat on her a** for 3 weeks and didnt even try to get a D2 game in for the guys to knock the rust off so I know she wasnt gonna show any gumshoe and move the AAMU game up

Since we have a dummy in a wheelchair @ the helm pretending to be governor of this backwards state and opening shit back up 'round here, coupled w/ overzealous mentally immature kids who think they are superman and impervious to CV19, and spring break a few weeks ago where TOO many youngstas were "fun in the sun" and shit, JSU had better fumigate the hell out of PV-everybody, including my raggedy old ass, if the game in Jackson is a "gee-oh!"

I would suggest that other schools (or fans in this case) stop whining about Alcorn's decision to opt out of playing spring football games. The decision was made, so get over it and move on. You can't do anything about it folks. And, stop pretending like you care about Alcorn athletes and their ability to compete. Based on the trend, three other schools (PV, Grambling, and Valley) have reported program interruptions due to COVID and I expect there will be more before the spring season is, officially, over. As it stands right now, Alcorn showed "BRAVE" strength in their decision which appears to be working out in their favor. Not that I expect other schools to admit to it, though. FACT: They may have been the only school in the SWAC to make this decision, but, they are certainly not the only HBCU who did. Just keeping it real.....
 
Since PV is the only school that continually manages to have covid, we should cancel the season and forfeit the rest of the games. They would have to stretch the season to June for us to finish our games

The words "social distancing & isolation" don't mean too much in Waller county.

Good ol' Padre Island/Corpus during PV spring break w/ a cajillion infected kids. Nothing like it. *retarded smiley*

No matter how you got there, Our incompetence should be rewarded with lost games, no other team as been down as much as ours. Going to have some pissed off parents if these athletes keep getting covid

There is no stretching of the season, it'll end Apr 24th no matter what. The only thing that can be done is to not have any more outbreaks and finish by beating the last to team on the schedule and being 4-0 with no chance of going to the SCG.

There was no spring break for the students this year because of the ice storms and the IT interuptions on campus.

Wasn't sure if PV claimed the spring break because of the cold air event.

I saw toooooo many pics of folk in Corpus/PI during typical spring break week a few ago and it wasn't all white or spanish kids smh. Just shocked that too many black kids disregarded the warnings and went there to "party."
 
Hey Swac, here's a easy reschedule for you... Since AAMU was suppose to come to Texas to play PVAMU, let them come on to Texas but let them play stu since their game against grambling was cancelled. That's a easy fix to get 2 teams to play each other whose games got cancelled.

Then schedule AAMU and Jackson on Apr 17th in Huntsville.

No, they should have played this weekend since sTu is open. We aren't going to reschedule our homecoming when people already got flights etc

What Homecoming are you talking about for the spring season?

AAMU was coming to Texas to play PVAMU, let them make that trip and play tsu since their home game against grambling was cancelled. You lose nothing but let those schools gain their games back.

You can disregard the section about playing aamu on Apr 17th, I missed where they are playing on Apr 10th. The site I was looking at didn't show it that way but I looked at another site where it has it correctly.

No confusion here solely going off of what you typed. Our homecoming game is against aamu on April 10th so we aren't going to reschedule the aamu game to April 17th. They both are open this weekend and should play this weekend without inconveniencing other schools.
 
I think we all really know that COVID is not as easy to control as we would like to believe. I read an article this week where a significant number of people (here in the U.S.) still caught COVID even after being fully vaccinated.

So I wonder what will be the plan for teams in the Fall....where there is no built-in make up weeks. Will only the player(s) who test positive be inactive for 10 days? And as long as a team has 45 or 50 healthy players.....they will be required to play....

Just thinking out loud here...

Texas Southern was contacted... Texas Southern turned down the offer. AAMU was willing to play Texas So in Houston.... the Flights and hotel reservations were already in Houston for the PV game... so it made sense to keep those and play Texas SO.. but Texas So declined.

The vaccine doesn't prevent you from catching Covid it only minimizes the effects that you will get sick if you contract it.

Understood whole heartedly.....My point was....As a conference, are we developing a protocol for teams in the Fall when there are no built-in make up weeks. Will there be a minimum number of healthy players at each position before teams can not play.... healthy players meaning testing negative within 48 hours of a game. Or will each team/school determine if they want to play week to week. I think we see now that we need a more robust system before the Fall Football Season (or any Fall Sport) starts in August.

Like I said.... I was just thinking out loud about the current situation.

Hmmm makes you wonder if they on quarantine and not telling anybody, Texas is definitely a for real hotspot with our idiot governor and young people ready to mingle and getting out in groups
