Pre-Season Coaches' Top 25 Poll

Don't write Virginia Tech off just yet. Frank Beamer is an excellent coach, and he'll get them back to playing good ball. Believe it or not, I'm actually a wee bit nervous of Bama's first game against them. Bama has been focusing so much on their second game - @ Texas A&M (third week of season), that this could be a minor trap game. Talk about a way to jump-start your program, if you're Va Tech. Anyway, I think Bama will win it, but don't be surprised if Bama is caught looking ahead, and Va Tech makes the game a lot more interesting than it should be. Remember, Frank Beamer has had nine months to study nothing but Bama. And even thought Saban has had the same amount of time to study them, I have a sneaking suspicion Saban has beene peepin' at TA&M film about as much as Va Tech film.

I want VaTech to whoop BAMA like they stole something but, while I can't see Beamer and VaTech staying down for long, I don't expect them to be a real contender for anything major until 2014.

I don't think the Big 10 is as weak as people make it out to be. Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Michigan are usually strong teams. Plus a team like Iowa could mess up a perfect season too. Then in the Big 10 Championship Game, they could end up facing a Nebraska program that has been solid with Pelini as the coach.

Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nebraska competed very well against their bowl opponents. Although Georgia did kind of kick into a new gear on Nebraska later in the game.

I think the Big 10 gets its wish this year and Michigan and Ohio State end up playing in the conference title game.

Ohio State should def be there. I think their only roadblock will be vs Northwestern. Northwestern? Really? Yeah THAT Northwestern.

I believe Ohio State will be there because of the weak schedule. However, I believe they will be hammered in the championship game (could be wrong but I doubt it).

It's going to be interesting to see B1G schedules improve with the ban on FCS opponents. I would love to see them partner with the ACC or the Big 12 to create some good 1-A matchups.

why do people overlook Stanford ? last year, they fumbled against Washington, but they beat Notre Dame (yes that was a touchdown) in South Bend and Oregon in Eugene. David Shaw has lost 4 games in 2 years

There was some talk of the Big 10 creating a scheduling alliance with the PAC 12. I'm not sure what happen with that situation.

I don't think they (Ohio State) will be hammered if Urban Myer brings a SEC type defense.....but hell that's not saying too much because you will have to stop Bama's running backs.

I agree that Stanford was robbed in South Bend....

If OhioState and Bama go undefeated they will be in the championship game regardless.

Dabo Sweeny at Clemson will find a way to lose 2 games.

Maybe Oregon can get over the Stanford hump since Chip is gone

I think Ohio State is a fraud. Look at their schedule, they play nobody and will waltz into the BCS Championship game if they get by Michigan.

Until proven wrong, no faith shall be had in ANY Big 10 school when compared to any elite SEC and/or Big 12 school. You don't get credit for spanking on Buffalo and FAMU. This will be Notre Dame all over again. ESPN will slurp them like ND when EVERYONE knew they were a fraud and they got throttled. Same thing for OSU.

I also think Louisville will lose one or two games. Teams just can't seem to get out of the American (Big East) Conference undefeated and this year will be no different.

Until proven wrong, Boise State will always be a dark horse. They are at #19 so they won't start the season unranked like last year. If they go undefeated, it's gonna be hard to keep them out with their recent track record.

I think Florida State will be pretty damn good this year...watch out for their VERY talented freshman QB, Jameis Winston...although FSU fans may be putting a little bit too much pressure on the kid right off the bat

I believe Ohio State and Michigan are in the same division or at least they will be win Rutgers and Maryland join the conference. Their dream matchup is Ohio State vs. Nebraska.

Again with Jimbo as their coach, they will probably lose to someone like Boston College and of course in Gainesville to Florida.

Difference is Urban Meyer when healthy is on par with Saban when it comes to game preparation. He is 7-1 in bowl games in his coaching career.

If you believe this you have got to believe that Alabama is a fraud too this year have you seem their schedule a trip on air force one to the national championship!

And what is different than playing UAB and Kent State? Everybody is going to SCHEDULE cupcakes. Your LSU Tigers do so as well,

My Buckeyes are a year away. If we mess around and win the championship this year, then Urban will 2 peat. He is actually going to be more loaded next season as his recruits get on the field for playing time this year. His recruiting class last year is just about to hit the field and this Freshman class will contribute but it will not be about them until next season. He is still playing with Tressel's recruits who are Srs and Jrs.

I really, really, really, really, really, really, hope that Bama and ANY TEAM COACEHED BY URBAN MEYER meet in the BCS Championship Game. If it happens this year, I guarantee you that Bama would beat them by five touchdowns. Yes, five. If they had been eligible last year, and Bama had played them instead of ND, Bama would have beaten that team by eight touchdowns. They were'nt even as good as Notre Dame.

Buckeyes Overrated
