PRAIRIE VIEW SIGNEES

Man, there's not gonna be any "easy" games in the West this year... with what everyone has coming back plus these new additions, LOOK OUT!!!

Yeah the West is going to be a beast this year and the next few years provided everybody stay eligible and healthy at the different schools. Waiting to see what Coleman and UAPB is up too. With Cole and Spears at TxSU, Frazier at PV and Pete un-retiring at SU, and Broadway staying at GSU. The West will be very interesting

BTW, all this heeing and hawing about this years signees means nada until labor day w/e (when they hit the field). And even then, it's not these, per se', that'll be looked @ closely. :read:

As I understand it, there were some redshirts from LAST year who are...:what: :gift:

I'm glad you said it first.:swink:

Don't start that stuff JayRob. lol Look @ this list from last fall and hope you don't see or hear any of those names this fall. :| Although it's my understanding that all of them SHOULD return and all of them SHOULD be in voluntary summer school for '08. :read:

UUrrrraaa (thx JayRob), the complete list is posted above by swacfan ^^^^^^^^^^^. All appears to be decently accurate outside of a few txfers I KNOW who aren't on there. :read:

My bad. :emlaugh: I totally forgot that SWAC office was doing it's best to be productive.

Well panthers, our secrets are out. :)

WE STILL READY! :slap:

The Swac office didn't have anything to do with that, it was a press release from our SID's office, along with some other schools that have done their homework.

I was giving a compliment to the SWAC office for having the common sense to actually post what they received in a timely fashion, as they have in the past. lol I'd HOPE they were receiving the official press releases from the respective schools for the information. :|

Also, hats off to the PV coaching staff for doing a great job of recruiting. For instance, I re-looked Durial Harris' offers and they were: TCU Baylor Houston Oklahoma State Utah Rice TCU.

Good job of out recruiting those FBS schools for talent.

If I'm not mistaken, this is a player who initially committed to Gram but changed his mind and decided to stay in Texas. Good job Panthers... we'll have to make him regret that bit of treachery.:angry::lmao::lmao::lmao:

More, that decided to stay in Texas and not go to those other schools

PANTHER FOOTBALL SIGNS TWO MORE STUDENT-ATHLETES

The Prairie View A&M Panthers football program has announced the signing of two more student-athletes to national letters of intent. The Panthers have received commitments from quarterback Vincent McNeil and defensive back Deandre Cooper.

?Deandre is a big physical athlete,? said PVAMU head coach Henry Frazier. ?He can play a variety of positions in the secondary. He will bring toughness and depth to our defensive unit.?

Cooper, a product of Smiley high school in Houston, Texas is a three sport standout athlete that also has the ability to play wide receiver. Last season Cooper was a First Team All-District selection racking up 16 catches for 466 yards and 5 touchdowns helping lead his team to a District Title.

McNeil who was described by Frazier as being the ?total package? has a long list of athletic accomplishments at Roosevelt high school in Dallas, Texas. Last season he rushed for over 1,600 yards while also throwing for over 2,000 yards. McNeil was a First Team All-District selection his senior year in football. He also competed on his schools basketball team earning a State Championship ring during his sophomore campaign.

?Vincent is the real deal,? said Frazier. ?He is an extremely impressive athlete that we look forward to having on our team next season. He was able to put up some great numbers in high school both rushing and throwing the ball.?

QB Vincent McNeil Ht: 6'2 Wt: 175 lbs Forty: 4.4 secs
DB Deandre Cooper Ht: 6'2 Wt: 200

It's not like peeps here won't research it just to be sure. lol So, here it is.

It's my understanding he was recruited by several Big XIIers and several I-AAers. :read:

Vince Youngish...................

He looks physically talented and seems to have a gift. But, that's against high schoolers. The jury is out until he's in purple/gold and under center. :read:

I remember seeing the initial signing day list and being surprised that PV didn't sign a quarterback.

They sure picked up a good one. The head coach at Gilmer High School said he's the best kid he's ever coached against. That's quite a compliment.

Maybe a redshirt year while Spivey does his thing will do him good, and then he can battle it out with Dewberry once Spivey is gone.

Senior stats:
190 rushes for 1,626 yards, 19 TDs
145-of-233 passing for 2,058 yards, 35 TDs, 6 INT

Solid pickup indeed.

That QB looks legit. And seems to be athletic enough to play WR or DB, if needed. I've seen 4 potentially good QB's come into the SWAC this recruiting year and he's one of'em. This should make things interesting.

He played some WR his junior season at Dallas Roosevelt.
