Prairie View loss means?

The most significant lost this past week has to be the PV lost to TSU.
Where is the Panther defense? Will this season be a repeat of last years and is Northern now on the hot seat?:tophat:

Northern won't be going anywhere but PV could very well run the table. You never know unfortunately with that D, I don't know. TxSU offense look good too

The sTu offense looked good due to incredible WR play, but 14 of their points were off of offense miscues. The gaudy rushing numbers were from the QB running around everyone won't have LBs as clueless as the ones form PV. It will be interesting to see how PV's defense responds when they get the starters back, hopefully they have someone to play in place of the freshman #24 at CB he was torched all night he needs more experience he gave up most of the passing yards :read:

I expect Southern to run the ball, control the clock and keep the ball out of PV offense hands. That is the ticket to taking PV out of the west race early.

He's not a freshman, now that #9 is a R-freshman who played the other side. One of our other DB's (34) that got injured in practice thursday was a game time decision and should be ready to go soon.

The offense needs to get it's act together and play some ball if they want to stay in the race. After we play McNeese St, we have 2 back to back West division foes.

That Pitre kid #26 for PV is a baller. :D

PV has a bye this weekend and then plays McNeese so that defense will really be tested again. Good luck the rest of the season Panthers.

And that's exactly how we were down to them early last season. They can't match up with our WR's lol. But we will be able to run on them also lol.

So #24 is older that #34? Wow, not kissing his booty but #34 played better than #24 even being injured :smh:

I take it we won't see #24 much the next game

This is his last year under his current contract.

I like Heish. Good folks. But I said after last season that he would be on the clock this year if he didn't win. Would not shock me if you guys got rid of him at the end of the year.

But this is only one game. A rivalry game at that. So I am not putting too much stock in that outcome. PV will be ready to play everybody else in the SWAC when it comes time. I ain't sleeping on PV.

I don't want to watch no c**n ball chuck and duck b.s........not looking to get in a passing shoot out with p.v. You beat pv by consuming the clock and running the ball down their country throats.

...well, you all need to start taking your lumps with him because ya'll should have LOOKED at Shorts and been able to tell he was not a college QB.

I think Shorts has got to make better decisions and show more poise. Every team needs two QB(s). I'm not prepared to say Shorts is not a "college QB." The coach looks at him every day so he must see something that he likes.

Loss means we're down 0-1 in the SWAC West with 8 more games to go. If we lose to SU on 9/20 it's virtually over for us. That means we'll be in Week 4 of the season with no significant improvements. Luckily we have a bye this week. sTu will surprise a few teams this year. They're VERY physical on defense and they've improved tremendously with their offense. Causey seemed more poised and comfortable.

I will say this. sTu got 24 points off PV miscues. One TD in the 1st quarter came off a pass that was dropped behind the LOS. sTu's CB picked it up and ran it in for a TD. In the 2nd quarter our FS and CB collided on crossing routes leaving a sTu WR wide open for a 44-yrd TD. Also, 2 seconds before halftime sTu missed a 30 yrd FG but we had a CB jump offsides. sTu makes the 2nd attempt. Another TD came off a Lovelocke INT inside our own 15 yard line on our first series of the 2nd half. That's 24 points basically given away. We can't blame anyone but ourselves for this one.

#24 is a R-Fr unless your media guide and roster are wrong...but yea dogteam I peeped that 24 was getting beat very early on and I kept screaming for us to play to his side it seems like it took our coaches a long time to realize that his side was the weak side made me so mad they couldn't see it fast enough we really should have blown you guys out of the water!

Go with the one that is more poised IMO... You can't teach composure, something I think jsu fans all see in ivy is his poise under duress. Play the frosh if he yields better results

And had our corner kept his composure as well as Asberry, PV would not have scored on that possession where we gave a police escort all the way down the field for a score. I could go on and on and give an explanation about the other scores we gave up as well.

Man it's football, no "well, if y'all wouldna scored in 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter..." explanations please.

I was speaking of terms of our miscues, dayum. Those were basically points we gave away.
