Power Season 3


Show has become way too predictable for me... and so many things that just don't make any sense. Like, Milan runs this organization that was smart enough to infiltrate Ghost clubs without him even knowing it. And, within 5 minutes, Tommy had flipped them all against him. An elite ex military unit, that was able to be outsmarted by some street corner dudes that weren't noticing their surroundings. Or, the fact that the agent that was the leak is able to kill that other agent because he was dumb enough to tell him he knew he was the leak after that phone call... after he himself had already saw the dude coming out of Lobo's apartment "cleaning up loose ends."

The most annoying one, the whole finger print thing. I mean what was going to happen there was obvious the minute that he took the glove off...which was totally unnecessary by the way. And, they have a whole team of forensic scientists in there at the crime scene, no one thinks to look at the window. Yet, Angela walks straight in, goes right to the window and knows exactly to go out there and check the window, in that exact spot, for finger prints. Kinda lazy writing IMO. Also Ghost daughter knew who Tariq had been chillin with, but it doesn't come out until the end that she tells anyone. And the scene with Tariq selling the guns, did the NYPD just happen to let that chick borrow a NYC squad car and uniform, or is she working for the NYPD now?

I like the show in general, but that was one of the most lazy written episodes of a show i've seen.

Even though I recognized a few holes in some plots including the ones you mentioned, I still think overall is not badly written. I actually think the writers only expected Power to last just 2 seasons. They may have stretched the stories longer than expected leaving questionable the obvious holes...but overall, Im good with it.
 



It was terribly written, but most won't care anyway. They just threw a bunch of chit at the wall to see what would stick. Another annoying thing is the Dre and Kanan angle. Dude knows Kanan is back and knows Tariq is chillin with him but he's too afraid of Kanan to say anything to Ghost... even though he's seen Ghost kill just as many (if not more) people than Kanan. I was going to let most of it ride until that finger print thing though. That one was just annoying.

Hot damn @Tiger1. you pulled out a CLASSIC then!

Now the last episode just had too many holes. On top of the fingerprint thing, did Angela ever think of how Greg got the other burner phone? That was just as big as the fingerprint. We still hadn't found Tasha. I mean I understand needing to stretch it out but these holes were just too much.

The burner phone is why I think Ghost will get off. Did you mean we still haven't found Lakesha? I want to say she's dead but....I'm willing to wait and see if the holes are not filled in Season 4...I got much faith in the writers..

I don't think she's dead. For one- the writers would've shown it go down, or we would've seen the body. Secondly, I don't think Tommy would do that while he was working on a plan to turn the tables on Milan the whole time. However, it does give the writers some "room for creativity" to leave it open going into Season 4.

How in the hell is Kanan rolling around with Ghost's son damn near every day and nobody notices it? Dude pulling up to his school every damn day and got the kid delivering packages. SMH

After a year of both change and more of the highly charged same, the “Ghost Must Die”-themed third season of Power came to an end tonight with a piteous death, discovery, betrayal, threat and the handcuffs being put on the Omari Hardwick-portrayed James “Ghost” St. Patrick by his ex, federal prosecutor Angela Valdez, played by Lela Loren.

This culmination of the season, and in many ways the Courtney Kemp and Curtis Jackson AKA 50 Cent EP’d series so far, tonight’s “In My Best Interest” episode comes with Power’s successful move to Sunday nights. Having made the shift in TV’s big night, the drama was rewarded by a two-season renewal in July by Starz after delivering new record-breaking viewership for the premium cabler this run. Amidst the twists, turns and hustle on-screen, the 10-episode Season 3 of Power also saw a rapid sequence of narrative events set off by the midseason killing off of the pregnant Holly Weaver (Lucy Walters) by her boyfriend and Ghost’s right hand man Tommy (Joseph Sikora).

With that aftermath and the seeds it has planted for future seasons, EP Kemp spoke with me about the season finale she co-wrote with Jeff Dix, why the obsessive Agent Greg Knox (Andy Bean) had to die even after getting back together with Loren’s Valdez, Ghost’s arrest and how Power was always leading to this. Talking about how she had always planned for the show to go five seasons and teasing a Season 6, Kemp also teased about what’s coming next, the addition of Fast And Furious alum Sung Kang to the show next year, the role Jackson’s villainous Kanan will play now that he has Ghost’s son Tariq in his thrall and tonight’s final scene.
