On terrorist watch list, but allowed to buy guns

The AP is reporting today that 247 people who are on the federal government’s so-called “terrorism watch list” bought guns in the U.S. last year, and it’s all totally legal. We know about these purchases because these buyers all went through the mandatory federal background check required from licensed gun dealers. But there is no law prohibiting people on the terror watch list from buying guns.

There’s also no way of knowing how many people on the terror watch list bought guns from private gun dealers, like those who set up stalls at hundreds of gun shows around the country. Why? Because private gun sales – meaning guns sold by un-licensed sellers – require no federal background check whatsoever.

Gun-rights groups like the NRA have long argued that the terrorism watch list is arbitrary and has no due-process behind it, and thus it should have no bearing on who can buy guns.

No they aren't. Not for folks on a terror watch list who have yet to commit the act.
Thought that bill was passed but I guess not.
I guess the Republicans can be blamed for that.

GOP blocks bill to stop terrorists from buying guns
Senate Republicans rejected a bill that aims to stop suspected terrorists from legally buying guns, on Thursday. The vote came a day after at least 14 people were killed during the San Bernardino massacre in California by two suspects, including a woman said to have pledged allegiance to ISIS.

Forty-five senators voted for the bill and 54 voted against it. One Democrat, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, and one Republican, Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois, crossed party lines.

Not sure but dude was interviewed by the FBI 2 or 3 times.
My friend is not a terrorist but has the same name as a known terrorist. He has hell getting plane tickets and he is now a US citizen.

I thought the guy who did the Orlando shooting was born here.

During the day, I pass by Club Pulse 3 or 4 times a week as I work very close to that club. I didn't know it was a gay bar until yesterday. It's gonna be tough driving past that location on my lunch breaks now. SMH

He was. New York. His parents are from Afghanistan. I remember when the FBI interviewed him and a few others after the Boston Marathon bombing. FBI agents actually shot and killed one of those guys they interviewed.

Exactly. With a crowd THAT large, you usually have five to ten people checking folks. Something sounds real fishy.
And one witness said that someone was holding the door shut and not letting anybody get out. Wonder what that was about.

Yall missing my point....if he had a shoulder strap harness with pockets sewn in no one will notice if you are not bringing attention to himself. Furthermore, he could disassembled it and reassembled it. Also, yall acting like bouncers really be paying attention. LOL....it's not that hard.

You can hide 1 or 2 30 round clips. Dude had to have at least 6-10 clips.

Actually not neccesarily(sp). When you drink alcohol your blood thins. He shot them and number could have died slowly and not immediately. Moreover if a gun is not on automatic he could have shot one bullet.

This is not TV where a dude gets shot and can fight 10 MOFOs. LOL

My view is not a religious one. I should've said Middle Eastern people. I don't get into the religion who is better thing. My point is that I don't care for people from the middle East. Not all but some are no better than southern white men with views towards blacks.

Cee, the same can be said for those who claim to be Christian. Don't fall for the hype. Christians enslaved, raped, and lynched our ancestors and still carry out un-Christ-like acts today all over this world. You (generic) just celebrated the life of a Muslim last week.

This guy, according to his father, was pissed because some guys were kissing and fondling each other in public a week or so ago when he had his young son with him. His ex-wife says the guy was mentally unstable yet he was an armed security guard with training (in this country) in the use of different kinds of fire arms.
I heard one reporter this morning saying Islamists condemn homosexuality....well, what "major" religion does not condemn homosexuality? This was the action of a deranged individual with an intense dislike and intolerance for homosexuals who happened to be a practicing Muslim.

Muslims/middle Eastern/ Rag heads all the same. My view has nothing to do with the religion aspect. I leave that up to others to fight. I don't get into that. My view is thee folks are who they are. Leave them where they are.

You still didn't answer my question. Also, I'm sure you know that Islam is practiced by more than just folks from the Middle East.

What's so funny is ninety percent of you don't want your precious little black darlings around the hood or black folks yet you say you want these rag heads in your communities. Ha!

They didn't frisck him is the bottom line. The hood bouncers feel your legs, pockets, go up and down around your back all while using a wan. They felt comfortable because this was a mixed white area bottom line.

It's almost impossible to stop folks from doing this. You got random White boys doing this every other month. Guns can't and shouldn't be outlawed, but the automatic weapons is a huge problem with just any person being able to own one or several.

Do we know this

Well, if they didn't, that's on the club owner. Hard for one to believe in a club of that magnitude that there aren't metal detectors along with ample security.

They prolly didn't frisk, anyone in that club that night, or they prolly don't even do it.

This may sound racist but it was a Gay night club and violence probably was not the norm.

He would have had to be extremely accurate with all those folks running

Lol
Man gays have fights, prolly more than one would think

You're a racist man Lol

j/k
Man, gay dudes be scrappin' LOL. Most of the fights I saw in high school and college were within the LGBT community. And you'd better not talk noise or you'd be next to get served. LOL

The clubs Downtown and at Universal Studios usually pat you down and check women's purses. Universal has metal detectors, too. Pulse is in "SoDo", which is south of Downtown, so I don't know if they do or don't. There are some strip clubs not too far from there....of course, they pat you down.
