With the way it is going now, the Steelers are making the Texans wish they were in back in Buffalo.

Maybe that loss against Cleveland on the last game of the season that made them go 7-9 said a lot more than I thought it did.

17-0 in the early in the second quarter

Bradshaw, Stallworth, Swain, Cunningham, Franco, and Rocky Blier on offense. The defense was unreal, led by Mean Joe Green, Blount, and "Dirty" Jack Lambert. If you want to know how dirty Lambert was, just ask the cowboy fans.

And the first shot has been FIRED!!!

Texans fire offensive coordinator Palmer

HOUSTON (Ticker) - Chris Palmer has taken the fall for the Houston Texans' anemic offense.

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Texans have fired Palmer, the club's only offensive coordinator since its inception in 2002.

According to the report, offensive line coach Joe Pendry will replace Palmer.

Heading into their bye week, the Texans have managed just two offensive touchdowns and 341 total yards in losses to Buffalo and Pittsburgh.

In a season-opening 22-7 loss at Buffalo, the Texans looked completely lost offensively, generating just 120 total yards and committing five turnovers. David Carr also was sacked five times.

Things failed to get much better in Sunday's 27-7 loss to the Steelers. Carr was sacked eight times and the Texans managed 221 total yards.

Last season, the Texans ranked 19th in total offense. They set club records for first downs (300), total yards (5,128), rushing yards (1,882), passing yards (3,246), completion percentage (60.7), touchdowns (37) and points (309).

A 16-year coaching veteran, Palmer has the reputation for developing quarterbacks. However, Carr, the first overall pick in the 2002 draft, still is inconsistent while playing behind one of the league's worst offensive lines.

In 46 career games, Carr has 45 touchdowns passes and 35 interceptions. He has completed a 25-of-47 passes for 2,377 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions this season.

Palmer came to the Texans after serving as coach of the Cleveland Browns for two seasons when they re-entered the league in 1999. He posted a woeful 5-27 record before being fired.

Pendry served as coach Dom Capers' offensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers from 1995-97. He was fired by Capers after the 1997 season, but there was speculation his dismissal was forced by Panthers owner Jerry Richardson.

After his tenure in Carolina, Pendry was the offensive coordinator in Buffalo from 1998-2000. The Bills made the playoffs in his first two seasons, ranking sixth and 11th in total offense.

Pendry is in his second season as offensive line coach in Houston.

They need to fire the brilliant one who thought by leaving the roof open, it wouldl give the Texans an advantage. Nevermind nearly killing half fan base in the stadium.

Ntel, now I am going to assume you were typing fast and didn't realize that you said #88. That would be Lynn Swann. Stallworth wore #82 like Randle El is wearing now.
