Pets

I've had two cats and a dog before. I had to get rid of my dog cause he got to big for my apartment. I love my cats especially the one that was a boy. They are so laid back and they feel everything you feel. When I was crying one day he sat right under me and started rubbing up against me. They wait for you at the door and know exactly what time you are coming home. My mom hates pets so I had to get rid of him!!:bawling: :bawling:

Sperm, my boyfriend has a japanese akita and she is spoiled and bad as hell. She needs to be outside instead of inside the house. :redhot:

Rrraaaa, do we detect jealousy? ~snickering~

It's my understanding that birds carry and incubate(sp) viruses quite well (I'm not a proponent of pet birds). I think fish are less maintenance than other animals. Have some and it gives the young one a chance to gain some responsibility by feeding (not so often weekly) and cleaning the tank once a month. She seems like she enjoys it but there have been rumblings for a dog :(. Have 2 male black chow-chows and they're on their last leg (12 years and 7 months old human time) and I can honestly state that they've been a bear to keep over the last almost 13 years. 9+ vacuum cleaners later because of their shedding, numerous expenses because they've chewed on the walls, destroyed furniture, destroyed flooring, destroyed clothes/shoes, "lions' cut" grooming for both, numerous vet bills, destroyed the interior of a few vehicles, and too many hotel expenses because my folx in the home area don't like dogs inside their homes.

I think fish are the better bet unless you want a cat to drage a snake or something else it "finds" into your home. lol

See that is the reason that dog needs to be outside. :redhot: "Lady" has chewed the frame of the door, put holes in the wall, chewed up the carpet, and let's not mention the numerous pair of shoes that heffa has gotten too. Did I mention that she will not "poo" outside? She only goes downstairs in the basement. As long as that dog stays at his mom's house, we are okay.

Now the truth comes out. ROTGDF!

It was YOUR shoes that got you all fired up. I knew it! I knew it!!!! LOL!!!!!

Not to mention that she receives 'special' treatment huh?

LOL@ the trouble y'all are going through. Misery loves company. I've been miserable so it makes me feel warm to know that I wasn't the only one having to repair doors, walls, carpet, pick up poo in 'special' areas, grooming, destruction to others' property, blah blah blah. LOL!

I'm sure Lady won't be coming home too soon (when baby arrives). She's gonna' get jealous. You'd betta' watch that heffa'. Once she notices how "daddy" starts to spend more time w/ "baby" and "love", ..... Well..... :(

Malcolm and Martin (my chows) chased the wife all the time and she's officially afraid of them. LOL I don't trust them around my daughter at all.

Cats are ok... except when you're pregnant....There is a chemical or something in their litter box "stuff" that isn't good for the pregnant woman....

Panthro, she has never gotten to my stuff. :lmao:

I've already asked Mike's mom how she is gonna handle "Lady" and the baby. I am not leaving my child over there with that dog. Whenever I go over there, Lady has to be put on the chain.

Good idea. Akita and esp. Chows are known for turning on household members. A baby crawling might look like prey to it, so be watchful. This point goes for all dogs around babies.

Your dog will "poo" outside if someone puts it on a chain and lets it stay there until it does. It shouldn't take more than a week to train at the most just BE PERSISTENT.

Chows are not family dogs.. my mom got one... man.. it dont let no body in the house
but that is what i need... keep the crack heads out  :redhot:

I have a black domestic short hair cat with green eyes (Ask Critau cal about him) Cats are a bit of work in the beginning between 8 wks and 6 months.) They run through the house like mad and scratch and bite when they play. They like hiding in corners and piles of stuff. At about 6 months they go into heat and are able to conceive or make babies (depending on the gender). People generally get their pet "fixed" about then. They are very clean and easy to litter box train. Ramone is an indoor/outdoor cat.l He is outside when I am at work and is faithfully waiting for me when I get home. I think cats are wonderful. He likes to snuggle and is quiet.

chows, when they age will turn on you. i had one for 7 years and my pops had to put him out of his misery because he snapped at
me, moms, and my sister.

chows will produce as many children as you allow them to though.

Interesting. This is my first stint w/ chows.

I've noticed how these two have changed. Every since they grew some nuts (pardon the pun), they've been fighting each other a lot trying to figure out who the REAL dominant one is. They have their strengths and weaknesses. One is a REALLY good inside dog (doesn't sound the alarm unless something REAL is happening outside or near the house) and the other is a REALLY great outside dog/protector (will sit and wait near vehicles before firing off to bite lol).

I've been bitten numerous times by both of them (trying to break them up). This last episode had me ready to throw them both in a lake though. I was going down the interstate and they LOVE to ride in the back. Each one has "his" own side of the truck right. Well, one came over to the other's side of the truck and then it was ON. They were reared all up like 2 grown men fighting in the back of the truck. I turned ALL the way around to see what the hell was going on and eventually I had to pull over. Think they stopped? Nope. So, I grabbed one by the back of the hair on his back and slung him from the truck to the ground. Think the other one stayed in the bed of the truck? Nope. He flew off and commenced to doing the same isht again. My intent was to let one ride up front w/ me while the other stayed in the back. So, there I was on the side of the interstate and 2 vehicles pulled over to see if I needed some help  (you know what color those people were right? :smh: ) Got bit and just let them figure out which one was right/wrong as I sat on the back of the truck holding my foot (bit through sneaker and made a nice puncture). Eventually they had enough and I opened the truck door and Malcolm rode up front w/ me and Martin hopped on the rear of the truck. What an eventful ride to Home Depot. :(

When they were 5 weeks old, I noticed how one was more aggressive than the other. One was really passive while the other was belligerent. lol Ol' girl that I initially purchased them for wanted to name them "mooky" and "tooky" (WTFFFFFF?????!!!! )

Malcolm and Martin seemed more appropriate. :D

Nah, I don't EVER allow small kids or even adults around them. Their teeth are sharp and I don't trust them anymore.

i thought aggressive was spelled incorrectly, i am at work eating
peach cobbler, working, and posting all at the same time. my bad.
the names are kinda neat. i had a rock and another pit and i named them pebbles and bambam. my current dog name is spankey and when his parents "relate" again i am going to get a girl and name her buckwheat, only because spankey is shedding his hair and it is everywhere. so, i will know what to expect with a sibling.

If you can stand all of that noise...go for it. My cousin has a parrot and he is quite irritating to me.

I have widescreen television with surround sound. Hitachi is my girl. She's odedient but tends to talk back to me at times.
