I would agree with that if the ONLY thing that has happened is the NCAA punished Penn State football. That aint the case. Sandusky will spend the rest of his life in prison. As he should. The people who covered up and enabled his crimes will have to pay the piper too. Paterno has been rightfully taken off his pedestal. The NCAA can't question the parents or the community. Penn State football plays in the NCAA. The NCAA punished Penn State football.
MH, I just think others are getting away freely. I agree that Sandusky will pay with his life in prison as he should. Not sure what the outcomes will be from the other trials. Those guys may or may not get convicted and they have only indicted 2 of them anyway. Joe Pa is dead and his legacy tarnished. So yeah those things are okay. The football program is actually going to pay a bigger price than some of the conspirators. I keep saying if the NCAA wanted to send message. They should have punished the entire athletic program. Since the AD was directly involved in this cover up. It wasn't just Joe Pa and the President. The AD was in on it. The football team got singled out because of Joe Pa. Who knows if other athletes or coaches at Penn State knew about Sandusky. My point is you can't just pin on the football program because it is the cash cow, which by the way will continue to make money even on probation. Not like they are going to go broke. If you want to curtail this across the board, then you take the whole athletic dept down. Especially since the AD and folks above him covered it up to. Just saying. All those other Presidents did was give Emmert power to kill Penn State football for competitive reasons. They didn't give a damn about them kids. Going to see if they give Emmert that power when a REAL sports related scandal happens that gives some school an advantage on the field or court.
