Certain people believe something and they are wrong (according to you). Why does that bother you so much? Why not just let them believe what they believe and be on your way?

Well, if it's being misinterpreted, why don't your god come down and clear it up if he exists. Seems like within Christianity, there's a lot of confusion being that there are thousands of denominations with their own biblical interpretations.

If Christians can freely post their beliefs and reasons for believing, why can't non-believers? It's as simple as that?
Now focus on my content and not me.

Tha's perhaps the most ignorant post posted today. So scientists, medical doctors, geologists, astronomers, archaeologists, historians, etc. are ALL wrong because they attempt to verify their claims? Hahahaha!!

Cee Dog, face it, the reason you don't try and prove your biblical god exists is because you simply can't.

That verse you posted supports my stance even more. It says faith is the substance of things HOPED for but unseen. That means it's not in existence. I wish you'd stick to that definition and not try and call "faith" evidence.

As far as being mad at anything, you've posted nothing offensive, so no need to be upset over here.

Now please tell me why your religion is so divided that this White preacher would want to have an ALL WHITE meeting?

You know the divisions in the religion don't anything to do with God. You know that "an enemy has done this". The same enemy that is using you to attempt to lead people to hell.

You know that God exists and you know exactly what you're doing. Don't you, JayRob? :) Be honest for once.

Ok, I'm gonna come poke out both your eyes, making sure you're blind. Then I'm going to stand there and ask you "Am I seen or unseen?" And when you answer hey tpop33 you are 'unseen', my next question will be, "well then do I exist or not?"

Hey guess what, "outer space i.e. other planets and stars are 'unseen' during the day" does that mean that they do not exist.

Why would I want to risk my eternity if I knew this supposed god existed?
I've willingly and humbly asked folks to prove the existence of this biblical god but no one can't.

Now as far as history is concerned, don't you realize that there's ample research-based evidence documenting before and around the time of 6BC that there were dozens of rising and dying saviors? People were allegedly being resurrected all over the place because they lived in a superstitious society.

There are dozens of saviors similar to that of the Jesus figure throughout history. This is not new information and this has nothing to do with any satan or whomever you want to call him? It has to do with documented and plagiarized history.
If not for Constantine and the mass killing of those who opposed his decree that Christianity become the state religion by force, Christianity would've been a minor religion just like other religions in the region.
So if you want to thank anyone for the spread of Christianity, you can thank Emperor Constantine.

If only folks would back away from the tree for the first time since childhood, they'd begin to see and appreciate the entire forest.
 
I noticed you skipped the whole part about one day we all will see the truth. Two things are guaranteed for you and I, death and finding out if there is a God or not. :tup: May the best man win.........

We can prove that air and electricity are there because we can gauge the results and quantify them, but how can you prove that the biblical god exists? How can anyone even prove that this specific god created the aforementioned?
His supposed word is elementary at best and full of holes thousands of Mack trucks can be driven through.

It has nothing to do with refusing to see anything, it has to do with presenting verification. We know those things you mentioned exist because people have seen them in some form or fashion via various modes, thus verifying it's existence.

The biblical god on the other hand has never been seen, heard, felt, touched. His proclaimed word has been shown to be full of inaccurate history, unfulfilled prophecies, plagiarized material from previous religions, unscientifc statements, unbelievable miracles (sun stopping, donkey talking, etc.), archaeological inaccuracies, geological inaccuracies and contradictory statements.
And guess who put these writings on paper? Ignorant, superstitious, nomadic tribesmen who had no knowledge of a tenth of the knowledge we have today due to modernization, science and education, yet we're supposed to take their word by faith? Please.

If there was this omnipotent being somewhere around, there's no way I'd insult him/it by attributing the bible to him.

Well, since you say bet on the black, I'd put my numbers on what we KNOW today to be true.

You have every right to stake your claim on the writings of bronze-aged nomadic tribesmen who thought they were hearing voices in the desert somewhere, who claimed the sun stopped in midstream, who claimed that dead people were raised from the dead, who claimed that one man killed thousands of people with a bone, who claimed that a big fish swallowed a man for three days, who claimed that evil spirits caused diseases, who claimed that it was okay for fathers to sell their daughters to their rapists, who claimed that children should be stoned to death for their disobedience, etc., etc. I could go on and on, but you get the point.

If one would read the religious writings from neighboring cultures and cities, they'd be astonished that the Old Testament and New Testament writings differed very little and why? One word......plagiarism.

I have a question for believers. Why aren't these SAME miracles happening today so we ALL can witness and revere this god of the bible?

This has nothing to do with any god, it has to do with human prejudice, racial bias, power and lack of respect and love for one's fellow man. One doesn't have to be religious to know this.

The absence of evidence is no proof that evidence exists. That would have to be put under the heading of faith, hypothesis and/or theory.
The burden of proof is on the person(s) making the claim, but then again, being a scientist, you already know this.

Even if one were to prove that some being exists out there that would be deism, not theism. The theists would still have a ways to go in proving that it's THEIR particular god who is the one out there?
Why couldn't it be the Muslim god or the Hindu god or the Wiccan god?
The burden of proof would still be on the theist even more. Why? Because you claim to know this god personally and that he speaks to you and that he's written a book just for you outlining how you should, no....how you MUST live your life.

So, I ask again. How does one know beyond a shadow of a doubt that HIS god is the one true god?

You don't know anymore than I do. All you can say is that your god did it. Well, if that's the case, I can say that the flying sphaghetti monster did it, and I'd be just as right.

Since we're still on the subject, you quit the dodging and tell me who created your god. It shouldn't be that difficult since you claim to know him personally and that he speaks to you on a daily basis.

You criticize believers for having belief and faith that God does exist. As if that is not all we need.

Where is your belief and faith in "science" now?

I'm not the one making the claim, so again the burden of proof is on you. You can accept it or deny it.

This is no different than if I claimed that the "flying sphaghetti monster" as being the one true god. The burden of proof would be on me to verify that this entity exists and is who I claim it to be.

I don't criticize anyone for their beliefs, however I will point out why I don't have faith in this particular god and post supporting evidence. Up to this point, I've not had one to disprove the info I've presented. I'd welcome you to do so, but it's quite obvious that you're not up to doing so.

Science is a study that comes from humans.

Now again, who created your god and how do you know that he's the one true god? If feeling in your heart and mind is all that you have to support your belief, that's on you and that's your right.

We can go back and forth like this, but until you can post something substantively related to the above questions, you're just blowing smoke and filibustering.
