Pake the Funt II

Nobody's really mentioned the significance of this Coe decision yesterday, but had it been me, I'd have tried to pin SU inside the 10.

I've never been a fan of paking funts or kaking ficks. If I'm gonna go for it, I'm gonna do it with my offense, not with a punter passing or a linebacker running the ball.

It's been discussed somewhat, I think what hurt them more than faking the punt was the time they saved us by passing on three straight downs to set up that fake punt try. Jackson had just come back in the game from being out, and his passes were all off target. In addition, they took a delay of game penalty before the fake punt, and SU was defending the fake possibility. I think Coe's biggest blunder was clock management, the fake punt just helped swing momentum further in Southern's direction.

I agree. Either you go for it, or you don't. Trickery usually backfires miserably in the SWAC due to bad execution.

That thing had fake written all over it before they even started. In that situation, no reason to even play the kick. I was just mad because they should have been looking for it more than they were, and ready to run that thing back the other way.

You mean to tell me this idiot called 3 straight pass plays when SU had no timeouts. This can't be. And they say Bell is dumb. This is s _ _. If SU got the ball with 50 something seconds left in the game, if the Lambs run on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down, SU doesn't even touch the ball at the end.

This is sadder than s _ _. Seriously! (thanks mh).

I know it's sometimes hard to think of these things in the heat of battle, but he'd have saved 12 yards by not catching that ball.

Leave coach Coe along. No one has mentioned that State scored six straight times when they had the ball including twice at the beginning of the second half. The man knows what he is doing.

The problem was so does Coach Richardson.

Remember sometimes the best laid plans goes astray.

If the fake punt would have worked or if one of those last passes would have been completed, game over.

SU made a stand both on defense and prevailed.

Now, has JSU requested a running clock for this Saturday? :bump:

You're right its hard for the kids but thats what the coach is there for and one of the many reason I say they should get rid of the defensive coordinator. :xeye:

Leave coach Coe alone? You barely beat a c**n coach that passes 3 straight times and tries a pake funt on 4th and you say that he knows what he's doing. Just because they torched your sorry, pathetic DBs doesnt mean that he knows what he's doing. Just because the effects of Lenny Williams not being back there to stop their WRs doesnt equate that their senseless c**n coach knows what he's doing. What coach passes for 3 straight downs when their ahead by 6 points with 50 seconds left? What coach tries a pake funt when their ahead by 6 points with about 30 something seconds left? A c**n Coach thats who!

it's typical too :retard:

Why are you bringing this thread back up about your dumbass coach trying to make somebody else look dumb? Coe is a dummy...PERIOD

Is that blue up there talking about sit down? Is he posting some stats again? Blueboy, you really need to stick to certain things, cause you always seems to expose your weakness. Kinda like your sorry DBs.

Ok, now back to MH.

"Southern's offense is a whole different animal
du_jr.jpg
," Coe said.

"This is what we talked about early in the year," Coe said. "Our secondary is young and they got exposed a little."

Exposed a little? :shame: Ummmmm Coach c**n......errrrrrrr..........Coe. This is what Monkegomery had to say about the situation.

However, that wasn't the biggest clock management blunder.

The biggest blunder came on the drive before.

After a nice kickoff return by Brandon Averett put the ball at the SU 33-yard line with 7:07 to play, the Hornet coaching staff called for three straight passes. All three were incomplete. They followed that with a fake punt, after a delay-of-game penalty, on fourth and 15. The pass from punter Mike Bryson was intercepted at the SU 26 with 6:28 to play.

This has to be the biggest c**n mistake yet.

Blue, all a coordinator can do is put guys in position to make plays. He can't think for the kid...sometimes you can tell them and they still don't do the right thing.
