Outkast turns Oprah down

Why do I get the feeling this has more to do with Outkast's relationship with each other, than with them proving a point to Oprah?

I doubt it. They did interviews together in the past few weeks.

Nope...it doesnt. She was just trying to use them to validify that she has no problem with "hip hop" and 3000 wasnt goin for it. Big ups!

Hmmmm. Interesting. As the report says, it would have been good exposure for them had they gone on her show and IF OPRAH would have given them thumbs up on their new releases in Aug of the movie and soundtrack. But who knows, maybe they felt like she would have done the opposite. You know these days if Oprah likes something and gives her approval a great percentage, especially white people, are racing to go out and purchase it and help drive in some major revenue.

I have yet to understand this whole (supposed) beef hip-hoppers have with Oprah.

She appears to be making a good will gesture, if you ask me. Oprah is a ONE-WOMAN media conglomerate. She really shouldn't give two hoots in hell how some hip-hoppers feel about how she ALLEGEDLY dissed them.

Surely folks who express (rant/rave) such harsh lyrics in their tunes have thicker skins than that, don't they?

Give me a break!

There's really no loss here.

Oprah will continue to be successful with her show and be an influential force in this country.

And Outkast has a HUGE fan base and will be successful with their new CD and (hopefully) their new movie regardless.

Oprah has so many people brainwashed lol...folks rush to her defense immediately upon seeing her name.:lmao: Down with OFrah

Just ask her millions of fans. Like her or not, she got hers and ain't nobody can take it from her.

End of story.

It's amazing that so many black men hate this black woman, all b/c she doesn't like rap music. Man I tell ya, that slave mentality is killing us, as a people. Instead of us actually supporting/embracing this woman for ALL SHE HAS DONE and is STILL DOING, we'd rather rag on her, b/c she doesn't like gangsta rap/rappers. What a :shame:

yep Oprah doesnt need Outkast and Outkast doesnt need Oprah!!!!

Oprah has already burned her bridge with the hip-hop community so she can cease with all the tactics. Im sure she thought by inviting Outkast it would help her cause..Im just glad Andre 3000 didnt fall for it...

Man, I aint gonna lie......

I have every Outkast cd!!

Outkast in my opinion, is one of the few groups/artists that have never put out a wack azz album. All of the isht they have put out is hit level material in my opinion.

I loves me some Outkast

Right. They rather glorify music that promote violence, ignorance, lavish/ghetto lifestyles and degrade our people!

Outkast sold over 10 million albums on their last CD and didn't need to go on Oprah. They don't need to go on Oprah now. Props to Outkast. Keep putting out that good music.

It could be said that she is a black woman who hates a number of black men.

Can't speak for nobody else, but I haven't seen her (in my few years of watching her) talk negative about men in the least.

Its amazing how this topic reached 20 posts THAT fast. Ya'll loves some Ofrah huh? And as far as hating her nah...but out of the choice between her and Outkast...well her and Harpo can go shove it.
