The Evolution... (From the Slick-Journal)

The name 'SLICK' was given to me at birth by the Poppa...
I didn't carry it for a long time, until I cut my hair off (bald-head) after Highschool graduation. Even then, I mostly carried the name 'Taboo' which is/was my pen name when writing songs or poems. But 'Taboo' was because I was considered the 'forbidden one', I used 666 and the whole nine.

But things changed, I changed... but my style didn't. I was still 'Slick' wit mine! The dress, the vocab, etc...
That's when 'Slick50' or 'Slick5ifty' was born.

Now back to the current name:
The 'PARTNA' part I drafted from dem ATL cats.
Thus I used SlickPartna for registering purposes...
The Dungeon Family dudes...

Now... I have evolved to 'SlickVision'!
But, that came after I registered with TSPN.
Plus, I'm a GROWN ARSE MAN... Slick is now SlickVision, Inc.
But you can call me SlickPartna!

Holla @ Pimp!!
 :D

My name came from ...

A book. My father got my name from a book. For the longest, I thought it was from a book of baby names.

After he died, I was going through some of his things, and I came across an autograph book he had in college (this was in the 50s, I guess it was just something they did). Anyway, I saw an entry in that book from one of his classmates. Her name was Vinita.

Then I knew what book my daddy named me from.

The name fits me, too.

I had a smart daddy! :)

ORIGIN OF MY ALIAS

CRAB NAME FALL 99 KERMIT DA FROG:tongue:
(i actually live up to it):licky:

On the old board I started off as Fire923 which you may see on other boards to this day. It came from me being a fireman and my radio number was 923. While meeting other folks from the board we can never remember or even call eachother by their real name and everyone was calling me Fire so when the new board started I shorten it and changed the spelling a little to just Fiyah.

I'm a lil' late, but...

Small- I'm 5' 1/2" in height...

One- In 98, I was the "one" and only girl in the trumpet section...

My name was given to me by this guy from Philly, and it sort of stuck. He took it from the rapper D-Nice, who's name is Derrick, like myself, with me being from the south, the northern guys couldn't understand how I always ended up with a bad broad, who was either from Philly, NYC, Boston, or New Haven.

So when the song "My Name is D-Nice" came out, and the lyrics were "taking out the sucka's, and you don't how I did it", he used that phrase in reference to me, my southern heritage, and the ladies.

The rest is history.

NICE

A fellow alumni wrote a book about the history of our(UAPB) music department and band. He included a chapter on me detailing my contribution to the band and music program. This was a huge honor for me and to remain humble I never capitalize it!

Now I don't know about everyone else, but that song came out a LONG time ago. I was in 9th grade, I believe. I saw your namesake at the Mississippi Coliseum during one of the Rapfests which were so popular then.

Keep pimping milkman, we'll holla @ you...
