She told her teenage son blasted off to her one day that he was grown and for her to stay out of his stuff. She said she was so angry she almost hit him, but did not because she was so angry.
What she did was generous!!! The next day while she was at school she went in his room, boxed up everything in the room, and took them to the garage. She even took the bed out. The only thing she left in the room was a blanket and one day?s worth of clothes.
When the boy came home, he discovered that his room was bare. He asked his mother where was his stuff. She smiled and told him he did not own anything in the room where he lived. She told him she and his father paid for all the items in his room and the room he was allowed to live in. She told all grown people need their own place. He then asked was it possible to get his stuff back. She told him he had to earn it back by obeying her and his dad, treating his sibling right, performing well in school and working around the house. She told him that as he did this, he could earn it all back his stuff as he did what she and his father told him.
I remember laughing my behind off. I bet he will think before he open his mouth the next time.

Kudos to this mother - her child is doing better in school!!!
To all the busy bodies and haters --- Pis* off!!! :jump:

I remember being 19 and trying to tell my folks how late I would stay out and that I paid my own college tuition and phone bill (hehehehe...one year of college ed-u-ma-cation). That didn't sit right and I was reminded by a friend that "...two bulls can't sit in the same pen..." So I got the hell up outta there!! Another life's lesson well-worth learning because I learned to depend on myself...everything else was gravy!!
Each individual is different. Sometimes extremes are the only way to get to some of these knuccas...girls or boys!!! :slap:

I sure do wish more parents would have the b@lls to do what this mom did! Too many are trying to be these kids' friends instead of their parents. I'd be willing to do the same for my son if he gets into the same kind of situration.

Jaguar Diehard said:I wasn't bold enough at 14 to stand up and disrespect my parents like today's thugs and thuggettes. I was young and didn't agree with many of their decisions, but you have to think of it this way... they had a clue as to what was going on and it may not have been the best way to say "NO", but they got their point across. Besides, I wasn't one for conflict at that age...with my parents that is.... They told the grandparents, then the uncles and aunts and cousins and everybody in the family knew you were acting an arse. Here comes the long lecture before sunday school and again at the sunday dinner and LAWWWWWWWWWDDD.... It was just better not to be confrontational!! Looking back, though...I can say they did care!!
